Did anyone see the night time Price is Right?
They have bigger prizes when they do a prime time show. They had a Rolex watch the contestants had to guess the price of. I did not hear the entire description, I did hear white gold and it appeared to be a Date Just.
The highest bid was $1552 the lowest $622, they obviously don’t know the price of a Rolex. The price of the watch was a bit over $3,000 and seemed very low to me. Does anyone know what model Rolex it was? |

I don't think any Rolex retails for 3k. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I wasn't paying attention until I heard Rolex. The day time show has Croton Watches. They showed the watch but by the time I looked it had spun around to show the bracelet. I heard white gold; it must have been only the bezel.
I thought the price would be near $15,000 although the prize the contestants guess on is not usually a big prize as the winner goes on stage to play for "A NEW CAR". I am sure the MSRP was just a bit over $3,000. So no Price is Right fans in the group. Last edited by Earl Camembert; 23 February 2008 at 02:17 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

If Bob Barker doesn't tell me to spay and neuter my pets at the end I'm not interested.

Does a Cellini come with a metal bracelet and some white gold for just over $3000?

Wait a minute! I forgot about Barker's Beauties. I may need to re-think my position.

If Bob was on the episode you saw, it's an old one. Probably over 10 years old. A WG/SS Datejust is around 6k now, and was probably 3k back then...

OK, I can't believe I'm getting into a Price is Right discussion here but I believe Bob B. didn't retire until last year. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong b/c I claim no expertise to the Price is Right.

Not that I am around during the days to watch it but the couple times I have been home sick with the flu and caught the show, Drew Carry is AWFUL. The network must be thinking of getting Bob back out of retirement to save the show. He just plain stinks!

I saw the episode tonight. It looked like it was a Stainless Steel smooth bezel DateJust w. Roman Numerals on an oyster bracelet. They said "white gold" but I would believe the white gold was for the bezel. No way in hell it was $3k.
I also find it suspect that the guy who won the $1mil prize by coming close to the actual price. I think the game show is rigged. |

Well, it was a SS Datejust w/ Smooth WG bezel and white roman dial.
$3800 is what they said. Excuse the quality of my Samsung BJ cameraphone. Highest bid was $1501 Damn, I'm good |

If it's $3800, then I guess it's a 16200 SS Datejust as that price matches up. I would have thought they'd get a newer model 116200 Datejust ($4950).

I'm definitely surprised that the price guessing was so low. I guess people are oblivious to the cost of a rolex--they just know its expensive, but NOT HOW EXPENSIVE...

It was mentioned once how far off many people are on guessing prizes. They really blow it on fancy furniture. They don’t come close to grandfather clocks that cost $22,270.00. They should have had platinum DD for them to bid on. That would drop their drawers. |

Actually the girl who lost her showcase won the Corvette , the guy did not. That guy was hilarious though.
I was amazed at the price given for the Rolex, but I guess they never stated it was "new new" (new old stock) but since when has the Price is Right dealt in anything but brand new merchandise? Quote:
