Going to Guam for 4 nights in March with the Missus. Can anybody give some suggestions on things to do places to go or food to eat?

Also the big all important question..

Any Rolex shops there?

You have your priorities straight! :D

Last time i was there was perhaps 7 years ago but I had a great experience at the Duty Free Shoppers store along the main strip.

it was admittedly because my mother in law used to work there so they were extra nice to me.

Honestly I enjoyed the hotel area for cocktails - nice settings on the water and for food the hole in the wall local places we went for red rice, empanadas and kelaguin were my favs.

Unfortunately I forgot the names of the places though. Have fun!

Have you been to Saipan already? I would recommend that before Guam, which is basically a trailerpark with palm trees.

No, I have not been there. The tickets and hotel are booked.

Ok, well, there's not a whole lot to do on Guam, honestly. One of the main attractions there for my Hong Kong-based American friends is the big K-Mart, and the familiar fast food places like Taco Bell. Hire cars are quite cheap, but be very careful driving as the roads are surfaced with asphalt laced with seashells, which makes them very slippery.

I've heard from military guys who've been stationed there, that the diving is pretty good.

Be careful. One of our illustrious congressmen said he was afraid the island might tip over. Yes, he really said that--on TV.

Hot, muggy and sticky! When a car passes you get a little wind! Great diving!

Don't know if this helps, but my friend who got back from Guam just after Xmas wrote to me that..."driving around the southern perimeter of the island was pretty and I fell in love with a little WWII museum I found there, which doesn’t seem to feature at all in the tourist information."

you may want to contact Dave's at Dave's Straw Hat Inn on Boracay, Philippines.
Go to his website, and send him an email. I think he lives there part of the time, and should know everything about Guam.

Come to Hong Kong next time, I'll give you the used-Rolex dealer tour.

I spent time there in the late 80s/early 90s. Back then all there was to do was visit the bars. The tourist area at the time was quite small and did not have much to look at. The island is riddled with snakes, so much so that Guam has full time snake patrols pulling them out of the tress and off of the fences. Diving is good, there are a few wrecks from WWII that are not too deep. I prefer Truk lagoon for diving. The roads are extremely slick during the rains and it can get disgustingly hot & humid (hopefully not too bad during your visit in March).
