Online autentication

Hi all,

When i bought my new black&blue Gmt last week the AD dealer told me that i could enter the serial number online to have it authenticated. However, i seem not be able to find any resources on Rolex home page. Is there anyone who know what he was talking about?
Thanks (from Hong Kong)

There is no such database.

If you bought your watch from one of the big hK chains- you don't have to worry. Which AD did you buy from?

The only way you can get a watch authenticated by Rolex is by taking it to the Rolex Service Centre at Jardine House in Central. Welcome to TRF, good to have more members from HK/Macau.

Thanks' for the quick replies guys (bows, bows).
I picked it up from Zurick watches in TST so im not worry about the authenticy as such, just thought it would be a nice thing to be able to check if the watch was part of a serial cataloge online.
Again, thanks'.

No worries if it's from Zurich watches.
Do they still have the armed guy in front of the door?

Adam: Of course, not having been in HK, I don't know for sure, but there must be reliable watchmakers who are rolex trained who can also authenticate?
If not, recruit a youngster to come to Lititz and get trained at their incredible facility there......

The only time a Rolex serial is recorded by Rolex is when the watch is placed in a RSC for service or warranty work.Or if stolen and reported to the police then the police will inform Rolex in that country only there is no online check.

Sure Sallie, I just meant the way to get authenticated specifically by Rolex, which is what the OP seemed to be looking for.

Pure rubbish. Buy your watch from another AD in the future. Great BLNR!

Well, in that case i say that i'll probably missunderstood him. I have no reason to doubt him and my Cantonese may not be what it should be.
Cheers,
