An octopus can become quite aggressive, that's why the large ones are a potential hazard.

You have to watch them grabbing for your mask, but that's the only issue I've ever had with them. Tell you what though, cowfish are about the meanest thing I've ever encountered. Those stupid little things will pick at your wetsuit until it's full of holes.
