Need your opinions!
I am about to pull the trigger for a third watch. I currently have an AP 15400 Blue dial and Ebel 139 Tekton. (You are probably questioning why would he even have an Ebel in the collection? Because I received as a gift).
I narrowed down my choices to Rolex Daytona white face, Rolex Submariner LV, Pre-owned AP Diver, or IWC Ingenieur. I will appreciate your inputs! |

I see you all lean toward the AP. Honestly, it is in the top of the list, but since it will a pre-owned acquisition I am having a second thought!

A sports Rolex is always good to have. I would take the LVc over the LV, though.

Did you try the AP on? No comparison to the others.
If you want a beater, go for the sub. |

I am surprised that people overwhelmingly chose Diver here in AP Forum...Shocker!
If you love the Diver you have your answer!

Sub for me. I do not like pre-owned, even a diver.

Depends how old the Diver is...be careful on pre-owned AP's.
If too old, I'd take Sub. or upgrade to factory new Diver. |

One must have a SUB in the collection, so that gets my vote.

My preference would be for the sub since you have a 15400. Likely due to my bias towards RO vs ROO. As mentioned, I would spring for a ceramic version, unless you dislike the look then I can understand.
Edit: then again hairdude ^ has clearly made a better case than me I digress.... |

I think a sub would be a nice compliment to your RO.

I would go for the AP Diver. I just picked one up about 10 days ago and can't get my eyes off it! Very happy with my decision. I was considering the Deepsea or the Hulk Rolex models, but whe I saw the Diver in person and tried it on I was sold! The fitment is very comfortable for my wrist size and it appears larger than its measurements. Great wrist presence! I found a great deal on the AP Diver and thought that I could always pick up a Deepsea or Hulk later down the road. No regrets for me!
If picking up a used AP Diver, check to see if there is any warranty left, check if any scratches on bezel as it can be scratched easier than some others and lastly ensure all paperwork and boxes are included. Those are my recommendations and opinions. Let us all know what you decide on and post up some photos. |

For me it would be either the Diver or the Submariner...I tend to prefer the former's look but the Submariner's size is quite nice as well...
Diver for me.
