Hecho In Mexico Jubilee Band
I came across a 1974(Birth Year) DJ with a jubilee band that says "Hecho En Mexico". I understand that Rolex authorized some manufacturers to produce bracelets and buckles under the Rolex name. My question is are they very rare? Are they collectable? Is their a price difference between them and the Swiss made ones? And are they consider authentic even though they weren't Swiss Made? I would love to get this DJ and the price seems decent just not sure about the bracelet. Just wanted some feedback before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

Here's a screen shot from the website. I would be more than happy to buy from a trusted seller on TRF but no one has a 1974 Rolex hence the reason I was looking at this one. |

I'm no expert, nor claim to be, but I've been around this site for some time now and this is the first time I've heard of this. I'd wait for the experts before coming anywhere close to buying it...

It is true. They were made in several countries, including México.

The Mexican bracelets are 100% genuine. Most of them you see now are stretched fairly bad. There has never been a "collector" value for these bracelets, anymore than the USA bracelets.
Looks like you might have found a winner.

Yep, I concur. I've seen many Mexican Rolex bracelets. I've always put them in the same category as the USA bracelets. Same quality really.
I like 'em though.

Definitely legit.
I think they are better. They are solid links instead the the folded links of the swiss counterparts during the 70's time period. I specifically sought one out for my gmt, and love it. Love it even more when it came back from Michael all shiny and new. |

Definitely legit. I had a two tone jubilee (1972ish?) on my 1967 Rootbeer. I traded it to a trusted and very knowledgable seller on this forum for an SS GMT. Seller that got it loved it.

Yeah, there are lots of variations from way back when, including the "Big Logo" clasps:

Rolex GMT Pepsi bracelet
I just got a vintage GMT Pepsi Master. The bracelet reads Hecho en Mexico. I am glad I run into this thread. I thought the bracelet was a fake.

Rolex GMT Pepsi bracelet
BTW, the bracelet is pretty stretched out. I am planning on fixing it/restoration instead of a replacement. Is this Micheal from HK reliable?
