1) 5508 : 7206 ( riveted ) with 80 endlinks
2) 5513 depending on case number :
--a) 7206 with 80 endlinks ( from 1963 to late 60s )
--b) 9315 ( folded ) with 280 or 380 endlinks ( late 60s to first half of the 70s circa )
--c) 93150 ( solid ) with 580 endlinks from the 2nd half of the 90s up to production end.
obviously for all models there is an overlap time with following / previous type.

My '62 5508 has a 9315 with 380 end links. It was originally my Dad's watch and he says he never had the bracelet changed.

A 5513 could also have a rivet bracelet, and if it's a USA rivet, I don't believe it would have any coding on it, just a date stamp on the inside of the clasp, along with the Rolex logo, of course. Good luck in your search.

I think there is a typo in (c) - 93150 with 580 end links from second half of 1990s up to production end. It be the second half of the 1970s.

If you have dated your 5513 from the serial number, and it was sold in the USA, then you can match a C+I Riveted Bracelet to that year.

It's a lot of work tracking one down, but worth the effort is you want to be as "correct" as possible.

Let me know if your watch is 1974 ! ; )

There are a couple of spreadsheets in this link as well:

If the serial number charts identify my GMT as 1971, and I am looking for a period correct C&I bracelet, do I need a bracelet dated 1971 to be correct?

Waiting for your response JBaker.

John:

Only the C&I were date coded to the best of my knowledge. They were offered on the subs. I think I know you are baiting me on the GMT's...

They came with the 7836 or 78360's....

Be safe.

Actually, most Rolex bracelets are date coded. The USA made oval-link Jubilees do not have date codes on most of them, but I have seen some with a date code on the back side of the first blade.

Besides Jubilee oval link bracelets, the C&I Oyster is the most common bracelet on vintage GMTs in the USA.
