SD Owners - your thoughts please

I am just about to pull the trigger on the BNIB SD I keep going on about, so before I do could SD owners tell me their thoughts and views on how it wears?

For example, is it comfortable, how does it compare to Sub and the newer Sub C, is it top heavy?

I really like my SubC but want to tone it down for the office and want something that wears a little smaller, less bling and the classic look on the lugs but I also want more comfort.

I appreciate your views.

It isn't more comfortable than the sub c on the stamped clasp. However using your sub c clasp on the sd bracelet makes the perfect watch imo

Myself have found no real difference between a 16610 or the 16600 while on the wrist but my favorite dive watch is the SD.We are only talking about a few grams difference no matter the dive watch. The 16610 weighs in at a 135g SD 147g while the ceramic Sub is around 154g extra weight mainly ceramic insert and bracelet links m myself not a ceramic insert fan.

Hi

This is a fantastic watch and one that may experts rate as amongst the best produced by Rolex. Also considered by many as probably one of the last tool watches they turned out, as the more modern releases have certainly been glossed up a bit! I had one (U reg mid 90s) a few years ago and I flipped it. Missed it badly so now I have another! You cannot really go wrong with it. Well designed and put together, still fairly modern yet functional and not over the top in any way. It can feel slightly top heavy depending on what you are used to, though if you get the bracelet well fitted, you soon forget about this. Highly recomemnded

I'm currently wearing mine on a bund strap.

The 16600 is a fantastic watch, although I do find the Sub C to have better balance on the wrist and with the Glidelock, for me, the Sub C is more comfortable.

I have trouble with my clasp opening. if you have the glide lock you will probably be disappointed with the clasp. also sits higher and not as balanced as my sub

don't get me wrong love the watch but the upgraded sub beats it in my opinion

In my opinion, there is no better watch then the Sea Dweller…

Although I would think twice before spending the extra money one that's BNIB…

It is comfortable, but if you have a chick wrist like mine, the buckle can be a bit of pain in the arse because it doesn't sit perfectly centered (at least on mine).
It is a bit thicker, and wears a bit les comfy than a 14060 for example, but it isn't the same watch. The 16600 is just the perfect watch, especially if you can source a glidlock clasp to fit on it...Or you just wait for the SDc.

I have the glide lock from my SubC and may just swap it over as I change watches every couple of weeks.

What an awesome trio! I'm going to have a Sea Dweller one day.

If the price is reasonable, I would grab it.
The SD 16600 is an iconic Rolex with relatively few produced compared to the 16610 Sub Date.
I enjoy mine as much as my 116610 ceramic Sub Date.
It is a very comfortable watch to wear everyday.

The price is £5350, which i do not think is too bad to be the first to have a 2008 sized.
