Sea dweller 16600 vs GMT master.
Hi,
I just wanted to hear from you guys, which one of the above two you prefer and why. I already have a Sea dweller M serial, and thinking of selling it and get the GMT master. Your opinions please. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well that would depend on what you want to use the watch for if you travel a lot and need a second time zone function then get the GMT.But myself see no point in changing if you do not need that function, perhaps I am a bit bias as the SD is my favorite watch in the Rolex line up.

I have the GMT Master 2 and the 16600 and I've put a deposit down on the new SD 116600.
Not sure yet whether or not I need to flip either the GMT or the current SD in order to purchase the 116600; I'm hoping not as I love both, but if I do, it will be the GMT. That pretty clearly states my position. Hope it's helpful.

Hi,
Do really need to sell the Sea Dweller? Why not have both? Both are great watch. But it depends on your needs. |

Don't sell the Sea-Dweller. You will regret it later.

Well, one's a dive watch & the other is a pilot/travel watch for keeping track of extra time zones. Get what you need & want.

A completely shameless guess, with no research or anything to back it up: The 16600.

I'd say it's a good bet that they will both hold their value well. |

Hi,
The second time zone only comes into its own when you have no external means of checking the time; most of us can check the time at home by looking on the phone. So go for the one you like the best! |

Complimentary pieces for sure, but if only one i would choose the function that would be more useful to me.

Personally I would hold on to the SD, I feel it's the best of all dive watches, no cyclops, but a date, clear readability and straight forward design. And the GMT in whatever version is a fantastic compliment to that...I could see a GMTc with a more modern design and technology, but also a similar vintage Pepsi or Coke for the style and swagger.

I would keep both, I still miss my numerous SDs that I have had and I will acquire another. I always liked how the SD was a little beefier than the GMT, as mentioned earlier the second time zone function would be the only draw (if you need it)

The GMT is both substantially flatter, and marginally larger wearing due to the larger dial. They're really rather different in ways that have nothing to due with the 24h hand.

Don't sell. The replacement cost is far too great in the future!

Both super watches so you cannot go wrong! SD definitely wears a bit 'top heavier' than the GMT, but is still very comfortable.
If you can manage it, you might hold onto the SD and go for the GMT in due course as another watch. Good luck! |
