real or fake and is it worth getting fixed?
Is my Watch worth getting fixed? The numbers 7 and 8 have come out of place on the dial and there is a small crack on the top left of glass after my son threw it. I am also wondering if it is real and what it is worth after I get it fixed and even more if its worth getting fixed.

Crystal shows age, but is wrong for a DJ...no cyclops. Case is questionable, but would need to see between lugs to be more certain. Dial is iffy...looks like a paper printed rep. Lettering is not clean and crisp. Would need more pics to be sure.

case reference you give is correct, probably best to buy another dial imho, can you take pics of the case and serial to be sure thanks, nothing stands out as fake except the dial is questionable imho

Does not look real to me. So I am wondering why you don't know if it is real or not...

I was gifted 2 watches by my grandfather; both had certificates from a company out of Las Vegas who authenticated them 7 years ago. Both of the watches broke. So I took them into a jewelry shop to get repaired and the watch repairman stated that the other watch was a fake and I was given a fake certificate for it. However, he took this one and repaired it because he stated that it was real and dated it from 1971-1980.
Needless to say there is a very long story behind all of this. The watch repair man was fired from the jewelry shop and acquired my watch which he retained in his new business. The jewelry shop could not give me any personal information about the man. Two years later my mother had a ring that the jewelry shop was fixing for her and she brought up the watch guy to them and they told her that he opened a shop down the road. After my mother told me this I went to his new shop and he still had the watch after all of those years. He apologized about what happend and he gave the watch back to me. I lost the original authentication certificate after many years of moving from place to place. Today we are here with the watch which is broken again and my wife wants me to make sure it is real before I spend more money to get it fixed. After everything that happened, I am beginning to question the honesty of the watch repairman. He did have the watch for so long after all. |

Looks good but I think it may have an aftermarket dial, get a new one IMHO. Give it a polish also.
