Omg omg omg omg incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone!!!
today is the day!!!!!!! Today is the day!!!! today is the day!!!! as a lot of you know I had made another thread on my out outgoing Rolex and stated that I had to wait till Friday or the very latest Saturday to be home for the delivery. Now I decided to make my incoming thread. I was able to take the day off work today and according to the tracking it just arrived about 15 minutes from my home at the sort center I do have a question for all of you knowledgeable people on this forum. Since I've purchased most of my Rolexes from an authorized dealer I've never had to wind it myself. Can some of you tell me please when I get the watch and I go to set the time and the date if I have to wind it. I can read the instructions when I get it but I thought I would just ask all of you. I will definitely post pics as soon as it arrives!!!! Hint, hint. look at my picture in my avatar now and then check it out later when my new Rolex arrives. I hope you all like my selection!! Debbie And today I made my donation to become a 2014 pledge member of this forum!!! |

Enjoy; congrats!
Just unscrew the crown, and wind it about 20 rotations to get it wound up. When the crown is unscrewed, pull it out just a little bit and you can change the date; pull it out a little bit more in order to set the time. When down, just push it back in and then screw it finger tight. |

Omg omg omg omg incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debbie, big congrats to you on your incoming- love your enthusiasm!!
Here is how I set the date: unscrew the crown and pull it all the way out until you hear a click or until it doesn't come out further. You are now in the time setting mode. I always adjust the date via the time mode. The reason why is because once the date changes you know you have just passed midnight. Then when you set the time you will know if it's Morning, afternoon, or night. To wind it up: once you have the date and time set, screw the crown all the way in. Now here's the important part: place the watch securely on your wrist and break out your Martini set! Make yourself a shaken Martini (remember....shake, shake, shake). Now pour your drink and celebrate the arrival of your new Rolex!! Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Did we ever guess right about the Incoming? I can't remember - I've slept since then
I now know it's not the Daytona that I guessed at - unless you got the extremely rare "calendar Daytona" we all see in WatchOut!!! from time to time... But now I'm guessing you may need to set the time, day and date... For myself, I always give the thing 30 full crown rotations after unscrewing it... Slipping the clutch is not a problem if it only needed 20 - and gives me some tactile feedback if anything feels "off" in anyway. If it's a quickset and off by more than 2 days, I use that feature - pull out to 3rd position. Otherwise, just use the time setting mode - 2nd position. If it's non-quickset here is a nice shortcut attached below for an 1803 - but works for DJ's, Subs, GMTs, etc... Let's see some pics soon - I can tell you're pumped since you are awake so early in AM on your day off!

Debbie, Is it scheduled for an AM delivery? If not, you can call and have it held at the sort center. You then have to drive there, but it can be picked up at 9:00 AM. This works great if it's not a guaranteed early delivery.
Congratulations, and very happy to share your excitement!! |

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for all your great wishes. You are the best forum I have every belonged to. So supportive of one another and a great camaraderie amongst other Rolex owners even newbie posters (but not a newbie Rolex owner) like me. No one guessed exactly right on my other outgoing post. But I will be posting lots of pics soon. It is scheduled for delivery by 1030am today. So I can wait because my fedex morning delivery man comes around 930am anyways Yes I am very excited because I am so happy that my great career allows me to purchase the things I love. I am proud of my success in my field of work. I am not a fan of rings, bracelets, or earrings, I love watches and always have. I would rather wear a gorgeous Rolex than a large diamond any day. Also just to share another reason why I flipped my last watch for my incoming. 2014 is a big year for me. It was in 2004 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and then had it again in 2006. So 2014 marks a 10 year anniversary so to speak for me that I am still here and so very thankful to myself for surviving something so life changing. So this is an anniversary present to myself for persevering and being alive to enjoy this milestone!!!! |

Congrats. As for setting etc.:
A full wind would be about 40. To set the date pull the stem fully out and turn until the date changes. That's now AM. Turn the hour hand hand past 6:00AM. This relieves strain on the date wheel. Then push to the second position and rotate to the proper date. Pull to last position and set proper time. Remember AM and PM. To set the second hand pull stem to the last position and wait, then push fully in. |
