The 42mm Explorer 2 is the best bang for your buck, hands down!

*Larger size
*Dual time zone
*Orange hand
*Can be bought used in the low $6000 range

That is all.

Cheers,

Ty

I like its simplicity. Not much bling. No ceramic curse or shine. Daily wearer watch

It's my wedding watch (we didn't do rings). Bought it in Cape Town...
Absolutely perfect, last of rolex's tool watches still in production today. Shocking to me I don't see more in the wild. It's the one I wear in Africa (live in California, usually spend 5-7 weeks a year in Africa).

I'm not sure that it's the most bang for the buck, but there is nothing not to love about the Explorer II.

I must admit that I'm not as enamored of the new version as I was of the older version, but there's no denying that it is one very practical timepiece

Been happy with mine since bought new last year. I did recently consider a flip for a GMT but came to my senses. Two time zones are plenty for me, no PCLs to scratch up, no rotating bezel to potentially have issues and......I like the looks of the wider 21mm lugs. I had the 40mm version, loved it too but the added refinements make this one even better.

x2...I had the black dial. Decided to move it as it dominated my 7" wrist.

Yeah, the white dial sprawled just a bit too widely across my wrist. Love the orange though.

For me the Exp1, which can be bought much cheaper, is the real value of the range.

Though I do not own an Expy, I have to agree and I am now sourcing one for a friend who wants to buy his first good watch.
