1953 lady Date with jubilee - need advice
I inherited my mother’s 1953 SS Lady date with jubilee bracelet. My father bought it for her as a gift after my birth.
However, it is about an inch too small for my wife. Otherwise it looks beautiful and keeps good time (for a Rolex). This jubilee bracelet is smaller, not only in length, but also appears to have much more graduation in link size from the 13mm ends down to the clasp than my wife’s more current 1997 datejust. So, I have looked in vain for links that would appear to fit on the clasp end, and only seem to be able to find more current 10mm size links. Could I have about 4 of them put into the middle of the bracelet, 2 on each side where the links are 10mm, or will they even connect properly? I would like to keep it as original as possible due to sentimental reasons, but I suppose my last resort is to replace the entire bracelet with a more current 13mm model. At a higher total cost of course, but do you have any other suggestions? Thank you for your time. |
