Question about service dials

Hello all,

I've been looking to treat myself to a 1016 to wear as an alternative to my 1603, and spent the last several months educating myself the best I can (mainly through this amazing forum).

I have a quick question about service dials—please see attached photo of 1016, supposedly from around 1967. Given the whiteness of the luminous material on dial and hands, I initially presumed it must be a later service dial with Superluminova. However, the dial clearly has T<25 printed on it. I dug further and found out that apparently Rolex fitted some watches during service with Superluminova dials that still had T<25 on them; is this true? Could that be the case here or simply a "fresher" tritium service dial after all?

Lastly, just out of curiosity, was the 1016 ever sold on a Jubilee bracelet? I'm wondering also because the endlinks in this particular watch don't seem to fit well.

Thanks for any input, guys, it's much appreciated!

For a short period of time, luminova service dials did have the tritium markings.

Never sold on a Jubilee bracelet always an Oyster. However back in the day an AD would fit anything you wanted! A friend of mine bought a gold GMT root beer and didn't want it on anything else than a President bracelet. That's what he left the shop with and he's still wearing it!

That dial does indeed appear to be a tritium marked service dial.

Yep, I have a tritium marked Luminova service dial on my 1016. I love it. It actually glows!
