Starting to think about a white gold watch to compliment the other precious metals in my collection. It will likely begin life as a weekend watch and end up as a daily wearer in the near future.

Right now I have a 42mm ExpII and a 43mm DSSD. Flipping one should I go WG Sub for the DSSD or WG Pepsi for the ExpII?

As my other watches suggest I prefer the bigger size, in fact 41/42 is perfect. How do the fat lugs, maxi dials and bezels fare on the GMT and Sub and which likely wears bigger?

WG Pepsi for the ExpII given the choices. The DSSD (or a sub) should always be in a collection

The GMTII wears larger than the nominal 40mm. The lugs make all the difference in the world.

You will be pleased with the size, even if it sounds small.

I'd go WG sub for the Deep Sea or even for the Pepsi as an alternative. I wouldn't flip the Exp42.

Thanks for the advice guys there seems to be a trend here!

I am keen to see how the Pepsi wears as I am stuck in a rut 41/42. The last 40mm watch I owned was the SD and it was IMHO too small

No need for 2 divers or 2 GMTs, if its the Sub the Deepsea has to go, likewise if its Pepsi its farewell to the Exp42. With the latter option it would mean the DSSD being a daily wear until the Pepsi got battle hardend for daily wear

Given your proclivity for larger watches, have you considered a gold YM2? IMO it's a great match to your two... I'd know.
