Mercedes hand not flat?

Wondering if this is by design, but the hour hand on my 214270 seems to be slightly concave. Only noticeable in certain angles and the right light, and very difficult to take picture of it (bc everyone loves pics). I figured it helped with reflections but the minute hand is perfectly flat. It's my only watch so I can't compare to others. Any others that noticed this?

It would appear from what I can tell the hour hand on my Explorer II is the same
I thought that the Subs, GMT's Exp II's were all like that

Thanks Chris for your response .
Adam, I do enjoy my watch and have for a couple years now

And Fwiw I'm not obsessing. It is a legitimate observation. Just because I don't have a thousand posts doesn't mean I don't know how to use the search feature.

I guess I'll just go back to reading is my watch safe in the rain and how in the world do I clean my bracelet

It's not actually curved, but it is definitely not flat.. It is convex ground across the top, likely for best appearance in various light angles (or to save on gold). So is the minute hand..

The bottom is flat..

Actually, the hand is convex on the top and flat on the bottom. I know that was probably a typo, but I thought I'd clarify.

I always though this from my own observation, happy to have it clarified. I love TRF school!

I was once told that the shape helps keep the hands straight. Not sure how true that is but it makes perfect sense. Take a piece of cardboard and curve it - hard to bend. A flat cardboard is much easier to bend.
