Say hello to the newest member of the family!
Just a few quickies of the beast
Yes, I'm a dork and I keep all of the stickers But, the little bar code sticker is cool as hell The crystal on the SD is just crazy. It's probably what I like most about it The crown doesn't really line-up like this when it's tightened all the way. I just thought it looked good for the pic I tried to get a shot of the laser etched crown, but it's not happening Of course, the wrist shot All in all, I'm more thrilled with this Rolex than probably any other I've had. My favorite Rolex has always been Mr. Bonds watch, the Submariner (Non-date). I've owned three but they were always the first to go when flip time came around due to the lack of a date feature (which I really need) and I was never too crazy about the non-SEL. My 16610 was a great watch, but I'm not a big fan of the cyclopes. The GMT was also great, but I missed the look of the trip-lock crown. The Sea-Dweller really fits the bill for me. I like chunky watches and this beast is thick. It feels great on my wrist. It's one millimeter smaller in diameter that the Subs and GMT, that combined with the additional height of the case and crystal makes it look like a prefect fit on my small wrist. The dial is clean without the cyclopes and, to me, is very reminiscent of the 14060M, which as I said, has always been my favorite. The dial itself with the lack of the cyclopes, the extra writing on the bottom of the dial and the trip-lock crown gives the SD a perfect symmetry in my eyes. And the crystal...oh the crystal The way this crystal protrudes up past the bezel just completely cinches this one for me, I love it Thanks again to Tai (RolexKings) Father for a phenomenal deal too Thanks for looking all

Congratulations, even though you said earlier this month and back in fall 2006 that you wouldn't buy a Rolex anymore! Famous last words! At least you're saving over the AD full price! One of the reasons I like my Expy2 is because the crystal is more visible than the 16613, even though it may not sit higher. I know that some WIS think that Rolex should make it flush, but it's one of the features I have learned to appreciate!

Fantastic watch, Craig.
I'm happy with my 14060m for the time being as I still have my faculties and can remember today's date. When I get older and wider in the girth, like you, I will probably need to go for the SD. Time to run for cover. |

Your killing me with those pics. Craig, I was in the process of buying it when Tai told me his Dad just sold it. But, I bought his other beauty, the COSC no date Sub. It's my second no date Sub and I like you, find it to be my favorite Rolex of them all. I vow not to ever part with this one, this one will be passed on to my boy when he graduates college. I will post pics. when I get more time. Congrats on the purchase, it is a true beauty.
