My first rolex vintage! A lovely 1665 Rail dial

Hello everyone!

I'm quite new to this hobby, but got hooked a while back when reading articles and seeing pictures of your timepieces on TRF.
For 3 years, I've been looking for a decent 1665 Sea Dweller, and have recently come across what would become my first ever vintage Rolex timepiece.

It's a 1978 Sea Dweller that has a rail dial and it keeps very accurate time within +/- 3 secs, very not bad for her age!
The super dome is just awesome and I can't stop looking at it!

I'd just like to share some pictures of her:

Thanks for reading!
Chris

that really is a stunning example of an iconic watch. The pics are great - would be keen to know what you took the shots with and how you set your camera up.

Awesome watch. I never noticed it saying t swiss t> 25 on the bottom of the dial. Very cool. Great patina. Congratulations and welcome to the madness

Thank you! I'm using a simple Olympus TG2 camera, which has a nice macro function. Semi manual mode, aperture priority and I used a light tent where I had the 1665 inside

That's a very good question! probably still in the divers models. I guess this will take me another 3-4 years to find again

I may receive a 1665 in a few days and was wondering if one could go in the water with it (beach, pool, bath etc...)?

Very nice! Theoritically as a diver's watch they should be able to get wet, as long as it passes waterproof test.
I however don't plan dive with it :)
