Swirls on different metals

Hey all, I recently got a TT Sub after having a SS model and noticed that the TT gold PCL get swirls far easier than the SS. Obviously gold is a softer metal, so I assume this is normal? So annoying in the certain light!

Quite true gold is softer than SS and will mark far more easy, but that's just a fact of wearing any watch no matter the metal. While Rolex uses 904L S.Steel although a little bit more corrosive resistant over the industry norm 316L,the 904L will scratch and show swirls far more. But all everyday swirls scratches are best left till normal routine service time only, then after service watch will be good as new only to get scratched again in wearing.

Give it time. After awhile I'd imagine the ss will catch up with the gold and will even out the patina.

So enjoy your TT sub. Got any pics? :). Love the TT sub and am thinking about getting one.

Yes that is true and I have the same occurrences. You're right though the steel can take a beating before it starts to show scratches. The gold is very sensitive to anything especially gliding it over any desk trying to reach for something and looking to see you have a scratch or a deeper swirl mark

All my watches, SS/gold/plat show similar swirls so no big deal.

Yes, gold PCL's on a Bluesy will get fine scratches and swirls without even banging the bracelet on anything. They just mysteriously appear out of nowhere. Just the nature of 18K gold. Gotta learn to just live with it.
