I have seen the term " basel" in a few discussions. It appears to me that it is a place where Rolex anounces new models or introduces the line-up for that year. Could one of the forum members let me know the signifance of "Basel".

Basel is a city situated in switzerland

It's the birthplace of the famous tennis player roger federer.

Every year there is a festival there where rolex and the rest watch manufacturers announce their new creations

It is open to the public.

The other show is SIHH. Not all brands exhibit at the Basel show.

Yes it is open for the public you just pay a fee to enter the festival. The upcoming one is from 3-10 april this year. The dates for the next one are going to be announced by the end of the upcoming basel festival.

Thanks a lot for the info i didn't notice that at their homepage. So we have to start thinking from now what will be released in 2009
