Something gold, something new, something red and...

something...GMT?

In all seriousness, I just wanted to make a post now that I feel I have a great collection started. You guys are all so interesting, so cool, so knowledgeable and so welcoming. I love hanging out here every day and talking watches with likeminded folks. (plus my girl is tired of hearing it)

I finally feel I can relax in regard to my collecting, which had been frenzied trying to put together a perfect Rolex family to fill up my winder. Now I can start to pick up vintage pieces on occasion, instead of trying to buy things every month (and making my saving account sad). It took lots of flipping, researching, thinking and re-thinking to get here, so I wanted to share where I'm at with you guys!

My collection as it stands in pictures:

My winder is a Heiden Quad Winder. I really like it and all the options it has, plus it has a great finish for the price. It cost me around $280 from Overstock, but they don't seem to have it now. If you're looking for a good, reasonably priced winder I highly recommend it. Here is a link, but also sold out: http://www.heidenwatchwinders.com/he...-lcd-p-14.html

I'd eventually like to have a 60's explorer 1, but I definitely want a nice Explorer 2 1655. Its on my shortlist:
  • A Seadweller 1665
  • 1655 Explorer 2
  • AP RO 15300?

Of these guys, its kinda hard to say. For the last few months it was the GMT 1675 because my Day-Date got stuck at a service for way too long (whole other story) right after I got it. And the Red sub happened in the last few weeks, and the NDc happened yesterday. So technically the 1675, but now the battle for wrist time truly begins
