I'm not too good on Tudor. I do see several things that look really bad. I would say bad fake.

For future ref, what jumped out at you as really bad/fake?

Thanks

I don't like the mag over the date. It's looks very weak. But that's as far as my expertise goes with an older Tudor watch.

People that know about correct fonts and dials are better suited to declare something real or fake in this case.

To point out fake give aways. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm confused...why is it bad to point out things for other members to look for to avoid getting burned?

The forum rules stick says: "6. Any casual allegation that a watch is a 'fake' should be justified otherwise the post may be removed. This should be achieved whilst not going into too much detail, good luck with that :)"

So it seems like some justification or reasoning is not only okay, but required... At least that is my take on it...I could be wrong.

It's not wrong or against forum rules to discuss fakes in this forum. Anywhere else and you will get slapped.

It's a personal preference on whether to point out what is wrong or not. Some people will do it others will not.

Many people come here with a fake watch knowing it is fake but they do not know what are the telltale signs or know how much of an obvious fake it is.

Some are just junk and very obvious others take a bit more time to sort out. By telling the person what is wrong it gives them the opportunity to try to hide the signs when trying to sell it.

You've got some posts under your belt so I don't that that is the case with your inquiry.

Thanks for the input. I am not a seller, unfortunately I know nothing about older Tudors and my wife wants one for a project watch.

Thanks guys.

Generally speaking, what would be a fair price for a watch head like this or one similar?

"I'm confused...why is it bad to point out things for other members to look for to avoid getting burned?" -JayAK

If a brand NEW member comes here and posts a counterfeit watch and asks, " what are the tells that this watch might be fake", the more learned and experienced members here will not bite. If a member with several posts that has been around awhile wants to know the same tells, it's a different story. IMHO.
