Shipping Rolex into USA

I understand this can create problems, and I am searching stateside for one. However, I've located one in HK; what would import duty % be on it? Or, if it is detected in customs, will/might it simply be seized?

Thanks

It will be seized and if it has any aftermarket parts, it will be confiscated for good

What if it is all authentic? Will it be returned to sender or allowed through eventually?

Only if they feel like it Adam, and not without paying a fine of around 1k

Importing a Rolex into the USA through the mail is illegal. Best thing to do is not to try, it can turn into a mess real fast

I bought a Rolex online and the seller was in Brazil. On the custom forms he listed the watch as being sent for repairs. I guess I got lucky.

Unless you plan on buying and wearing it back don't bother. The risks far outweigh the rewards. Rolex has a team of lawyers and an endless amount of money to pursue any and all legal actions against you. If you are not able to purchase & wear the watch back in person and you're looking to save some money then it makes more sense (in my opinion) to speak with one of the trusted sellers on TRF. They will be able to source virtually any watch you want and you'll save some money in the process.

The minute the watch reaches customs... you will get a call or email from Gibney, Anthony, and Flaherty (Rolex's legal counsel based in New York). They will ask you the purpose for the importation. If you are lucky they will merely decline the entrance of the package into the country and send back to sender. If you are not customs will confiscate and destroy it.
