So close to getting my GMT BLNR

I have been looking at the BLNR for a bit now (on here!!!!) and have love for it. Step 1 was to raise some funds for it. Sold my Pam190. Funds check. Step 2: buy the watch. This is not easy. No one in New Zealand has one for sale. And I am on a right timeline: I need to buy one to coincide with my overseas travel in August to get it GST free - else it is silly $$ which makes the US MSRP look cheap.

I think a handful have come into the country and they have flown out of the shops as soon as they land. Anyhow, had my name down at a few ADs and playing the waiting game worrying if my timing will work out. Thing is, the ADs don't know what's coming in from Rolex until they get the parcel. And they got no BLNRs last month. So it was dire.

Well, got the call today that one AD has one coming in and it should be in the shop a week from now. Yay!!! It seems to have worked out!

Sorry for the nearly new watch post. But I am a little excited. And my girlfriend thinks the BLNR looks cheap with the multi colour bezel so I'm not getting a lot of excitement there! LOL. But then she also thinks the WG/Blue sub looks cheap!

I will post pics when it lands.

Greg

Good choice on the BLNR! Go with what you want and don't worry what your girlfriend thinks. The BLNR is many things , but cheap looking is not one of them. Good luck and I hope you are able to pick it up really soon. Post some pictures when you get it. Here is a picture of mine.

The more I see it, the more I'm convinced that a BLNR will be next on my list.

Congrats! It looks as good in real life as it does in photos. My gf thinks my patek looks cheap so I know how that goes.

So my 'in years from now' or 'someday' purchase is a Patek Aquanaut. I showed her this. She said the rubber strap looks cheap and ugly. I was shocked since I wear my SubC on a RubberB. I asked her what she thought about that. Her reply? Great way to make an expensive watch look cheap! LOL.

Does anybody want to trade girlfriends? Just kidding!

Great choice Greg...I really enjoy my BLNR. Make sure you post pics when you get it.

BTW, if your girlfriend thinks Rolexes and PPs look cheap, then at least she won't ever want one...that's a good thing! Maybe a Fossil watch won't look cheap to her and that will save you ALOT of money.

The blnr is amazing. I can't take mine off. Of all the watches I've had including my fav the DSOTM I feel like the bnlr and Dayton are my 2 favs.

Who gives a rats ass if a watch looks cheap or expensive? I never got that. Nonetheless, when she sees it in all its ceramic, PCL shiny glory she'll change her mind!

Anyway... Congrats in advance! I love the BLNR.

190 was a steep price to pay, but, BLNR is a nice watch, too, so, enjoy!

I've heard the same comment a couple of times now from non-wis. I think up close the watch speaks volumes about its quality but those colours do look playful at a casual glance.
