I'm a newbie. How do you know it's fake?

I'd say the ROLEX font is too thin on both the outer and inner box and the stitching / construction looks suspect. Plus the printing on the bottom of the inner box looks unprofessional.

How am I doing?

There are a couple of things even more obvious than that, but we don't like to publicise them so as not to give the fakers a lesson in how to improve their garbage.

The box is the most counterfeited Rolex box out there. Compare it to a genuine box, especially the outer box, and you can clearly see the differences between the two. Same thing for the paper - notice the color.
