Tudor Fastrider BlackShield Question

Hello everyone...

Its this time of the year where I consider getting a watch...

I'm tempted to get the Tudor Fastrider BlackShield (with beige strap). I'm not a fan of Daytona however I've been developing a taste for black ceramic with beige straps (blame Panerai). Anyhow... So I'm leaning towards this Tudor... for some reason there is no Tudor agent or reseller where I am (Kuwait) so I'm looking for it online.

I found it on ebay here http://r.ebay.com/Wx1Ktd
I've never bought anything form eBay before. The seller seems to have positive rating and offer international shipping with FedEx. Their price is a bit higher than what others are offering on eBay (I'm not sure what is the suggested retail price for it, whats the people are actually paying for it, and what it can be found for online...) the advantage of this seller is allowing us to make an offer so I'm intending to make an offer.

My questions...
1. Shall I go ahead with this model or maybe wait few months for a newer one (in case there is any news of anything new).

2. Whats the current going price for it so I can make the seller a fair offer that they wont reject? (but still I want good offer... i mean, right now I have in mind 4,200... but anything lower is going to make me happy of course ;/)

3. What do you think about buying from ebay? Any tips? does the seller appear to be legit? I'll be paying by paypal in anycase, but i hope it offers an extra level of protection.

thanks in advance.

Low contrast dials, or anything for that matter are for teenagers and those in their twenties and maybe early thirties.

Once you reach a certain age, visual acuity becomes a problem and you will curse products like stereos and watches that only your grandchildren can read.

Other than that, wait for the experts.

Why buy from ebay? This is an expensive watch and you have great sellers right here. I think they're great watches and uniquly different from the typical watches on this forum so buy them if you love them. Not sure what the previous poster meant by 'low contrast dials' cause these are anything but.

My only concern with these models is their ability to take knocks over time as ceramic can crack and potentially shatter. Other than that they are super sharp watches with great wrist presence

Have you seen it in person? It's one of the few Tudor models that looks worse in person. It looks like a flat-black painted watch. I thought I'd love it, left completely cold. See it in person before you buy

I do agree to an extent, but because it isn't shiny its finish and colours don't look great in dealership lighting. I'm sure under natural light they look amazing

Well, naturally I'd prefer buying it in person from a shop. However since there is no one selling Tudor where I am, I'm considering the internet. I don't know any of the sellers here... I guess eBay offer a level of protection (ie sellers ranking, reviews, eBay guarantee, payment by paypal.. etc).

Never thought about that... but I don't think it will break that easily! I guess i'll have to search a little more about this!!

$4925 is the normal retail price. Avoiding the tax could be a nice savings though.
