RubberB for an incoming 116515, any reliability concerns?

Hey all,

Decided to go with my heart and I'm pulling the trigger on a chocolate dial 116515, my grail piece I've lusted after for years! So freaking jazzed!! I know most people said they would have picked a 116718Ln instead, but this Daytona really really sang to me and saving up all this money made me really think hard about what will make me smile the most.

Living in Hawaii, the strap was a shortcoming of the watch for me but I also love the contrasting look of the black strap with the rose gold and ceramic bezel. I'm thinking of putting a RubberB strap on the watch as the perfect compromise so that I get a similar look of the leather strap but I get the utility of the bracelet because I can just shower with it on or rinse it off when my wrists get sweaty due to the humidity or swimming in the pool.

With this watch not being one of the cheaper Rolex models, and even if it was, it's still a lot of money to be held together by two pieces of rubber. I'm hoping some of you guys with RubberB straps can chime in on your experience with them and if you have any tips or issues with the straps.

I'm specifically concerned with installation, how will I be sure that the spring bars are fully released into the case, as I would imagine the rubber strap fits snugly into the case and being rubber it may "withhold" some of the springbar from fully releasing into its case hole? I just want to make sure when I'm swimming or walking out and about or even with my family in Disneyland on roller coasters I can be confident that the strap is as reliable as the OEM strap to hold the watch together on my wrist.

Another question I had is for maintenance, does the Rubber strap loose it's sheen or appearance over time? Or generally no issues after a quick rinse?

Any other tips or opinions are greatly appreciated as always, TRF is always a great place to ask these questions :)

Thanks! - Sammy
