Gift from AD with purchase of a Daytona... arrived!
After the ordeal documented in this thread of how the AD removed stickers despite our agreement, and the watch happened to have an imperfect dial with polishing compound on the case (photos on page 5), I received the following today as resolution. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they had not tampered with or sold me a returned watch.
Orbita Sparta Deluxe 1 watchwinder, RSC traveling case and cloth, handwritten thank you/sorry note, and the missing green hangtag with my serial number! An amicable gesture that allowed me to finally take off what remaining stickers it came with and wear this Daytona! |

They still have a black 116520 if you're interested!
The manager Marylou has been very forthcoming but there are many unknowns that I prefer not to doubt. Fortunately, I've seen my share of flaws with BNIB Rolex that makes this story easier to swallow and attribute to coincidence. |

Congrats!! I wouldn't freak out either about the dial thing... These aren't 100% machine made to perfection products... They are mainly still put together by human hands and have tiny imperfections which make them all unique.. As others have said, hide the high powered optics and just enjoy it!!
Great Daytona btw!

Nice! Glad to hear it worked out. We typically only hear about bad AD experiences, so it's nice to see this work out the way it did. You approached it in a professional and non confrontational manner and were treated the same in return. It's a win win for everyone! 👏👏
Enjoy your beautiful new watch in the best of health! 👍 |

For the kind of money you paid for that watch I would be very dissapointed; I would have returned it for a fresh one that was shipped from Rolex to the store.
If I ever buy a watch from an AD I want to be the person to put the first mark on it. I have no doubt that it was "new" but I have a feeling you were not the first one to touch that watch. I have seen how some customer treat watches when they are trying them on...one even just set it down on the glass and I heard a very loud thud...I was shocked. As for the dial, that's on Rolex. I'm happy to hear your happy and got a little extra for your troubles. Enjoy the watch. |
