Advice/suggestions for next purchase?

Hello everyone here on TRF! I wanted to solicit everyones advice on what watch might be the next addition to my small and humble collection. As it stands right now, I have 3 pieces in my rotation, Patek Aquanaut Travel Time, Patek 5960P, and a Rolex Submariner. Although I couldn't be happier with these 3 watches, I want to start thinking about potentially a 4th watch to add to the collection at some point over the next 12 months.

I don't want to add a timepiece for the sake of just adding one. Instead, I am looking for a logical next step that will make make the collection more well-rounded. However, I'm not sure what that next purchase should be. I have been examining several scenarios in my mind and wanted to get your opinion as to which makes the most sense.

Scenario #1) Focus on adding another BRAND. While Patek and Rolex are a pleasure and privilege to own, there are many other brands that represent fine horology. Perhaps it makes sense to add a Lange, AP, Breguet, etc. to the collection?

Scenario #2) focus on a missing COMPLICATION. Although I have a GMT function, annual calendar, and a chronograph, perhaps I should consider a piece with a moon phase, perpetual calendar, etc.

Scenario #3) Focus on MATERIAL. Presently, my collection is limited to Stainless Steel and Platinum. Perhaps a piece in Rose gold would make for a nice addition?

Scenario #4). Focus on PRICE. Although the Sub is my least expensive piece, it is still a pricy piece to use for a beater. Maybe I should consider something at the lower end (i.e. $2k - $5k)

I could go on and on with various scenarios to consider for a next purchase, but I will stop here. Based on my current collection I would love to know your thoughts on what would make for a logical next addition to the collection.
Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Your collection is amazing and one any of us would feel lucky to have. My suggestion my mimic my dream watch buying of the future. I think either of these two additions would really add a level of diversity and take your collection to the next level.

1. Lange & Sohne: Lange 1 in either rose or yellow gold:
2. Patek Philippe: 5970 in yellow gold

Both examples are legendary pieces from what will go down as the two finest watch companies the world has ever seen. Both are investment grade and will be corner stones of watch collecting for years to come.

I am looking forward to seeming others suggestions on your wonderful dilemma. Please keep us informed as to what way your journey takes you as you may be living out some of our dream purchases.

I'd go for a Lange. They're giving Patek a strong run for their money right now in quality, and I think they could very well be the "it" watch to collect years from now. Such amazing innovations. I would love to have a rose Zeitwerk striking time.

The collector formerly known as Steelersfan65 owns a 5170G that is drop dead gorgeous. It is a Manual Patek Chrono with not a lot of excess clutter. It is WG.

And both HL65 (new name), and Dr. Tom, both own my own grail, the platinum Daytona. You could get a YG Daytona if you want to add color. If it were my choice, I'd go for the Platinum.

You would be happy with either. I don't know how to insert stock photos, but maybe you can search on them.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily your "style" judging by the pieces you own, but I would dress it up while keeping it simple but high-grade:

yea I'd say Gold, then maybe dress watch, then brand

You could check all three boxes w/ a nice Lange/FP Journe in rose gold. If you don't see yourself wearing a dress watch often, maybe an AP in RG.

Which one do you wear the most?

If it's a PP, get a YG Calatrava as suggested above!

I'm assuming you don't want a large watch so modern Rolexes are slim pickings.

You could get a Daytona, get those complications and better durability against the PP, similar size face and ability to dress it up and down. It fit nicely above your Sub and is it just me or are prices falling on the Daytona recently. Might be a good time to buy.

Doesn't seem like you're a colored metal guy. So, I'd go PP5990, PP5712 or AP15202. Maybe up even an AP PC. Also, Omega Speedmaster, as a real beater.

First, your collection is small, but not humble by any means. PP and Rolex have the best resale value, so i would stick to those two brands. Option 3 seems like the next logical step. Your PPs are expensive but understated, as not many people would recognize them.

Now, to directly answer your question, I would get a Yellow gold Rolex, and this would serve as the "Look at what i got" watch. It could be Day Date II, Daytona, or GMT. Avoid the Yellow Gold Sub, since you already have a SS one.

That way you'll have 2 PPs and 2 Rolexes. Nice balance i would say.

Lange 1 Moonphase in rg

Not the latest model with the oversized Moonphase but the previous version. One of the most beautiful watches on the planet.

I wouldn't focus on brand, price, complication, or anything else. I would just find the watch I liked the best and buy it.

I would add an AP 15202 but if you're thinking about gold I'd go with a Patek 5712r or some one of the Lange moon phases.

some to consider that I either have or hope to own someday include fp journe, a jlc reverso, and a lange (either a lange 1 moonphase or the up/down)

My suggestions would be:
AP 15202 ss or rg. Pioneer of the modern sport luxury watches, awesome movement.
Lange Datograph up/down. Manual chrono in platinum. My grail watch.
PP 5712 ss. Moonphase feature.
Lange 1 Moonphase. A more dressy option for your collection.

Perhaps something with a white dial to be different from what you currently have. What about a Cartier or a black dial Panerai or lastly an Omega Speedy.

I would go with the PP 5712R Nautilus Rose Gold, Power Reserve Moon phase.

I think this watch is a stunner and would add a lot to your collection IMO.
You would add a lovely Rose Gold piece, plus it comes on a brown strap, so that would mix things up a bit for you too. It would also add that Nautilus that everyone needs in their collection, or that everyone who can't attain it dreams of having (me included).

I just think it's a beautiful piece that would fit nicely into your collection.

Two of my favorite things

Not sure if these would fit the bill, but thought I would post anyway. One is out of production (1815 Chrono) in this form but can still be found if you look hard enough. The Lange 1 "Stealth" in pt is still available.

Firstly that is an amazing collection so don't feel you need to add anything, but if you would like to add another piece how about a JLC reverso? A different and well respected brand with in house movement. It also has a different case shape to any of your watches and also a reasonable price relative to your PP's
