Since when did the daytona started having polished center links ?

i think it was in the early 90's


because the yacht-master came out in 1992 and it had polished links

I believe it was with the N series Zenith version in late 1991. Before that, they were brushed.

Any pics? i have never seen a brushed daytona except from the really old ones

Hi Frostie,

I'm afraid mine is a W series from mid 90s so polished bracelet for me. R,L,E, or X series all had the brushed bracelet and the N series changed mid production from brushed to polished (or so I believe).

Why not do an image search on Google or look through Ebay listings to find RLEX series (interesting that this almost spells Rolex?).

Here you go Frostie

Picture of a R series 16520 courtesy of 10pastten.com

This is the so-called "floating" Daytona as the word "Cosmograph" is floating under the rest of the text on the dial. It also has the inverted 6 on the chrono hour counter.

You can see that it has the brushed bracelet which came with a non-fliplock clasp.

V nice huh?
