What to wear to a funeral- 3 choices

My great grandmother passed away on Wednesday after a difficult 10 months with heart and renal failure. Her health drastically declined ever since her husband of 62.5 years, was killed in a car accident in October. She spent her final days in hospice at home.

My question for you fine TRFs is what watch should I wear?
1. Rolex DSSD
2. IWC big pilot 5004
3. Limited edition Bulova Conqueror (199 pcs) given to me by my grandma for my 16th birthday.

The Bulova is the dressiest of all 3, but I prefer not to wear it to keep it in mint condition.
I am leaning most towards the Big Pilot.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one, but honestly, I'm a bit bemused at why at this time in your life, you're worried about your watch.

Wear some thing small, discreet, and on a leather strap.

If you don't own such a watch, there are very many available for next to nothing that would more than suffice for a funeral.

A funeral isn't a time to wear flashy stuff.

It is a bit odd I will admit, but what I have on my wrist will somehow make me feel better. She was very happy and encouraging with my watch collecting, and I just want to wear the best thing.

The Bulova is great but its not from your Great Grandmother but from your Grandmother instead and like you said, you would want to keep it in mint condition.

Looks like its the BP then...since you are leaning more towards it. Just be a bit subtle with it.

It is absolutely more about what she would appreciate. I'm not stressing over it at all, I'm not making a big deal about it at all, just wondering what you all thought, of the 3 would be a proper watch to wear

Given the focus of the event I don't think anyone would care what watch you wear, and honestly, I would consider not wearing a watch at all.

The OP's maybe making light of a difficult situation !!

Did your great grandmother contribute to any of the watches i.e. birthday money or anything ? If did - could wear the watch that she helped fund as a sign of gratitude etc

You going to be involved in anything that could maybe get a watch damaged ? I was involved in a funeral a few years ago when we had to carry the coffin for about 500 yards from church to grave yard.

Sorry for your loss. It's great that she was in your life long enough for you to get to know her. I'm sure you have fond memories. As to the watch, I'm sure plenty of others will disagree, but nobody will notice it, nor care. You have a nice collection. Arguably the greatest dive watch, IMO a little chunky to wear with a suit. And a 46mm icon of a pilots watch. Again, a little oversized. Either would be fine if that's all you had. But this isn't the case... You've got a dress watch given to you from your great grandma. What a fitting piece you can wear while you honor and celebrate your great grandmothers life with the rest of your family.
