Hello from Maine
Hello all,
I spent hours yesterday reading your site and wanted to jump in and say hello. Great site!! Now for my first question, I have a GMT 1675 I got in 1978. From what I can tell it has a gilted dial and the small pointer so it should be somewhere around mid 60's could someone look at the pictures and take a guess. The serial number is mostly worn off, it looks like the first number is a 1 and then the middle part is pretty much gone. The 1675 on the other side can still be read. Is the serial number also on the inside or just between the lugs? Somewhere I have what's left of the rivet band that came with it and the original insert that was all faded. I Purchased the insert about 10 years ago from a AD but the band is an aftermarket Champion USA band I got 15 years ago. I wore this watch pretty much everyday for the past 30 years until just recently. The bezel gets dislodge fairly easily and I don't want to loose it. Can this be fix or would the bezel have to be replaced. This is the first time I tried to take some watch pictures and since my wife is away with the new camera I used the old 2.0 camera. When she gets back I can take better pictures and perhaps show the rest of my collection. Thanks all, great site! Ron |

Welcome, very cool vintage GMT.
I would say it is made around 1963-5 period. I doubt that it originally had a jubilee bracelet. Anyway, the small 24 hour hand indicates early 1960's, but the lack of pointed crown guards means it it unlikely to be 1960-62.

This will keep your mind off it!
Buy a new Rolex and that should distract you [a wee bit] from your new home.
Love that GMT- I have a 1987 model and wear it daily. President DD for weekends. We are "south shore" folk - as you can guess from the car picture. Bay Shore area. Good luck up there! |

Nice Watch. The RSC should get it looking brand new. I would put an orginal band on it. It may cost you a little money to do it but you'd have more of an original timepiece. It will look mahhhhhhrrrrrrrvoluos!
Welcome to the crazy group. Thorazine shots for all at 2. Terry Newton
