Ferrari 308GT4
After Gerardo offered me all that lovely food & wine I was surfing to find desert . . .
Found this beautiful short movie on the Ferrari 308 GT4 It's not my favorite Ferrari but the more you look at it . . . you see that Marcello Gandini did at nice job when working for Bertone I just checked what other designs he did and I have to say . . . impressive http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcello_Gandini To get back to my first line . . . as much as Gerardo loves food & wine . . . I love cars . . . No sorry . . . I love both ;) Enjoy the movie https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wKwIfsAMZfs Have a nice evening |

Thanks for sharing, Interesting as well. I have been on the hunt for a Fiberglass 308 for sometime myself. Or a post '84 GTB. 76 or 77 308 GTB or a nice 89 GTB is my choice. :)

Ahhh, one of my favourites. And it's a 2+2, so a practical car as well!
I had to decide between a 308GT4 and a 911 ... I guess you know what I chose, but I still wonder about the one that got away, and what life would be like with it instead.... Thanks Marc, great find

I'm not interested. He does all the service himself - I would be flat-out changing the oil.

Old Ferrari's are so beautiful, shame nowadays it's all about setting laptimes at the nurburgring, 5 way traction control and wind tunnels. The car's are not so pretty, but that's where the game is it.

Dad owned a 328 GTS for some time. It was wonderful, right until the moment the f150 took it out in a parking lot.
GREAT car. |

The story I heard was that in the final season, Selleck's contract said that he would get the 308 as a bonus....
He took delivery of the car and then had it shipped to the mainland. On Christmas Day, he presented it to Larry Manetti, who wanted it even more than he did.... Awesome piece of Enzo's legacy....

I had a 308 GTS Black with a Red interior for a short while in 1980. It wasn't a QV and a 4 Weber Carbs version. Great looking car at the time. My observation on a 308GT is that it's a great looking car. The motor is fairly anemic by today's standards. If it is taken car of with regular Ferrari service it's pretty durable. It handles well and is fun to drive. In the short time I had it, I spent a fortune on brakes and valve service.

Great video! I've owned a number of older Ferrari's and I've always been a fan of the 308 GT4. I've owned an '89 328 GTB for the past twelve years, and it's a wonderful sports car.
Regarding 308's, particularly early glass cars, prices are skyrocketing with no sign of slowing down, especially in the UK. 246 Dino's were cheaper than 308's for twenty years, but today most any Dino is worth $200k, and very good cars could top $500k later this week at the big auctions. It appears that 308's are finally along for the ride, so if you've ever wanted one I think the day of finding a really good, desirable version for under $100k are numbered. Regarding the video, does anyone know where it was filmed? I spent a couple of weeks in Sicily in May and I would swear that one of those roads is near Lago Arancio in Ulmo, near one of the La Planeta wineries. Those roads are great fun! Sadly I didn't have a Ferrari, but I think I got the most out of my Alfa Giulietta rent car! |
