Sd 1665
I am looking at one a local guy has. Looks like it's a D serial and 564 are the first three letters in the serial number. Is he asking to much - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MakeTrack=true

This ended up selling for over 14k. I didn't know these SD's were so valuable. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=008

I think this is about the going price for a white 1665. However the one in the auction had a rail dial and those can go for even a few thousand more, so although it didn't have papers I think 14K or thereabouts was in the ballpark.

A rail dial is where on the dial just above the 6 O'Clock mark the gap between the words 'superlative' and 'chronometer' is directly above the gap between the words 'officially' and 'certified'.
Normally the gap between the two words above does not align vertically perfect with the gap between the two words immediately below it. Thus there is an imaginary vertical rail in this case between the two words on each of the 2 rows of text. Have a closer look at the photo and you will see what I mean.

Yes, the rail dial is really quite rare and so collectors are prepared to pay quite a bit extra for it.
