Hey John, great post! Believe or not, seen them all! Not ashamed to admit It allways brings a tear to my eyes when shoeless Joe says "if you build it HE will come". Never got to play catch with my dad as much as I wished, lost him in 1966. I still hope that some day I WILL! Thanks!!

For those of you who think "Bond, James Bond" was a cool original way to introduce one self on screen check this clip out at 1:02 in:

... talking of Bond, couple of my favourites:

Bond: "You expect me to talk?"
Goldfinger: "No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die!"

Pussy: "My name is Pussy Galore."
Bond: "I must be dreaming!"

Casablanca my all time favorite movie, also had the most memorable lines of the top 100 lines in a movie. Each and every movie mentioned for the most part perhaps 2 movies mentioned are on my top as classics. Only wish that To Kill a Mockingbird would have been mentioned. The older black and white movies truly are classics and I only wish today that production companies could produce movies today without all the action zing bang explosions and make classy movies of yesterday! Thanks for posting the 100 famous lines. It bought back some great memories of when I watch the movie for the very first time and many times after.
Aloha from Kauai,
Tom

I like your insights Tom and tend to agree, I would say that this is the "traditional" list. If were talking about all time all inclusive list then some very key movies have been omitted. That said it's a great place to start.

Great stuff

Brando with 3 lines, in 3 different movies...

Hanks with 3 different lines in 3 different movies

Who's on first will be played 1,000 years from now, true classic...

Casablanca, maybe the best of all.....

1969, under the stars at the Brevard Drivein, Eau Gallie, Florida, I sat in the front seat of my dads 1959 TR3, I watched the immortal John Wayne star in True Grit. Can't imagine a top 100 without him. From the meadow shoot out, " Fill your hand you son of a.....

Here are a few of my favorites. I think they are all correct however they may be off.

"Me, they can kill. You, they own!"-Papillon
"I bet he would've missed me anyway!"-Papillon
"It's a professional bloodsport and it can happen to you. And then it can happen to you again."---"What is so important about driving faster than anyone else?"---"A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing is important to those who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything before or after is just waiting."-Steve McQueen

"You work your side of the street, i'll work mine."-Bullitt
"Look, i don't like you Chalmers."---"Frank, we all must compromise."---"Bullshit."-Bullitt

"Stop thinking of it as a curse to have been given an enemy in life. It can be blessing too. A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends."-Niki Lauda

"To win a championship, you need the combination of those elements, in the right dose, at given moments. And you need more than anything a very clear mind to understand when exactly is the moment to be aggressive, when is the moment to be calculate. When is the moment to give everything you have, when is the moment to hold everything you have for the next opportune. That's the difference between winning and loosing."-Ayrton Senna

"I have a mission. I've been doing this sport all my life. I am here to win."-Mika Hakkinen

"You don't just kill one cockroach and expect it to teach the rest of them a lesson, no. You gotta kill'em all."-Vincent Majestyk

"In my period of driving, there was a 2/3 chance i was gonna die. There was a 1/3 chance i was gonna live."-Sir Jackie Stewart

"Once you hit your limit, you've gotta go all the way. Because you commit yourself to such a level where there is no compromise you give everything you have, absolutely everything and sometimes you find even more because it requires even more."-Ayrton Senna

"You keep your nerve Sam, cause i'm gonna keep mine."-Tom Horn played by Steve McQueen

"He will always be young. Ayrton Senna will always be fast. He will never be old. He will always be champion of Brazil and of the world."-John Bisignano

"I like to take the approach in life that to see something fully one has to believe. It takes something inside that is rare. Very rare. I know many people will see something that is not entirely there, but then again, is it? It embodies mystery, shrouded in darkness and cloaked in intrigue. Racing represents the type of person who would go to lengths far beyond that which the normal person would go to to reach that climax, that rush of adrenaline, that feeling of gratification and perseverance. The darkness and fading light is that limit and into it further into the unknown. When you're there, you become one with yourself. So many people think that they are but they never really are. When you feel out of place outside of the car or off of the bike, you know where you belong and what you do best. Racing, that smell of the track, life is all that matters."-Me
