Anyone have. VW Passat TDI....

I currently drive a 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited. I'm intrigued by the 2014 Passat SEL TDI. Anyone have one?

No, but I have driven the new Touareg TDI. It is my favorite SUV on the market right now. It's that good.

The base model has everything that I want (and more). You can get one for about 50k OTD.

I have a Touareg, and your right, they are great. I wouldn't trade it for anything except another Touareg. My wife has a VW Tiguan and the little SUV moves out, turbo 2 liter

I do not have one. But I did test drive one. I ended up with the diesel X5. Lots of research and test drives. Diesel is the way to go.

You can't go wrong with a VW TDI.

I have a Jetta tdi 105kw bluemotion and it is very efficient and good to drive. Really low running costs too.

As long as you don't mind a little engine clatter, turbo diesels are great. I've had my X5 35d for nearly two years and I'm pretty happy with it. They all suffer from a bit of low speed turbo lag, but the gas mileage sure makes up for it.

The X5d is an awesome SUV. It pulls like a freight train.

Indeed. Hard to believe 335d has the same engine.

The only thing I long for is another gear, which the new model has (two more actually).

Nope. but I can tell you I had the use of a 2014 3 series diesel the other day and was BLOWN AWAY with how good it was. I flogged it up and down numerous mountain passes and it still got 30+ mpg, even at triple digit speeds.

It will probably be my next one.

We all drive diesel in Europe

Why do you think that even Porsche has diesel engines ;)

I wish we had good diesels sooner in the USA. I am getting 38MPG in the X5. The only issue I can see is if your state has more than 5% biodiesel.

I have a 2013 passat TDI for my work car.

It's is amazing on fuel. I average 1000-1100 KM per tank. It's a solid feeling quiet car. ALS, there days of blue puffy smoke and diesel clatter are gone. It's a smooth running car and very comfortable for commuting.

Yup, my brother in law has one and loves it, phenominal mpg's. Also one of my best buddies is a VW. Master tech, he just got his wife one... I think that's a good sign of approval!

I have a 2013 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagon....

It does not sound like a diesel because of the excellent engineering and sound proofing.

It gets 47 MPG on the highway and 30 in town.

I highly recommend the VW Diesel series for a great all around utility vehicle with great reliability.

With my Audi A6 1.9 TDi Break I averaged 40.6 mpg !

725 miles with one tank of Diesel

Really cheap driving and maintenance was ok
