Let's have a no bs thread about....

the accuracy, in seconds per day, of your Rolex and/or Tudor watch or watches.

Please list the model or models, how long since last service if applicable, how you rest your watch at night, and the seconds per day gained or lost.

And please be truthful.
Thanks.

Rolex DSSD - gains 1.3 seconds per day. 3 months old, so no service yet. On days I don't wear it, it stays in the winder. It is always in the winder at night - 650 turns. I place it in the winder with the crown facing up.

This is my most accurate watch, but all of mine run within COSC specs.

DJII, about 2 months old, runs around 7 to 10 seconds fast per day. SubC a month old, right around 1 second fast per day.

I have no clue about the accuracy of time etc. I just lay my watches on a soft cloth in my closet and rotate every 3-5 days so I end up setting the time and date on my pieces once a week or so. I would assume they keep perfect time lol

Sub 14060M, 3 years old, never serviced, worn day and night. If I wear another it goes face up in a box.

+3 seconds per day

Oyster Perpetual 26mm, 1 month old, never serviced, worn most days but never at night. Kept face up for 8+ hours per day.

+9 seconds per day

Tudor Black Bay - 2 months old. Between +2 and +6, depending on how I leave it at night. Because it's a new watch, I'm checking it more often.
Explorer II - about 15 years old, serviced once. It was +2 sec/day, when I first got it. It had degraded to about -10/day, when I finally got it serviced. Came back at spot on (I went 3 weeks and it was only +1 second, total). Now it runs usually in +/-2 sec/day.
Daytona - 4 years old - +1 to +2 sec/day.

Interestingly, I find my watches are more accurate and consistent when I wear them and let them rest at night in one position, compared to putting them on the winder.

Explorer II 9.3 million serial number reference 16550
Serviced by Rolex Canada January 2014
Resting flat on its back for a good nights sleep
At most I'd say it gains one second per day

EXPII 216570: Almost one year old and when new was +7 s/day. Had it regulated. It's my daily wearer for the most part and when worn, is usually on my wrist 24/7. It's currently a consistent +2 s/day since I'm very active in the spring, summer and fall. If I ever do remove it at night it rests crown up and will lose 1 second. Last winter it was 0.5-1.0 s/day with 24/7 wear.

DJ 116233: Three years old and was +6 s/day when new. Had it regulated. When worn 24/7 it's +2 s/day. If I remove it overnight it rests crown up and is spot on in the morning.

After an initial check I just check now and then that they are not keeping noticeably bad time. I want to enjoy my watches not monitor them.

GMT Master II BLNR

22 days old, obviously no service no nothing and a bit early to have a full idea of a good average accuracy. I don't care the way I rest my watch at night as long as it's not close to any magnetic field and around my "special rag"...

So far, -2 sec per day.

Explorer II 216570, it's almost ridiculous, set a month ago and it's to the second still. It will lose 1 second per day on winder but I get that back with crown down overnight after wearing. When worn it's right on. Purchased in April.

I have a BLNR and it's not nothing that these watches obtain COSC given that I timed my Rolex with our trusty quartz clock and syncronized the second to match the clock's at 6 mark and it stayed same during the test period .

116613 LB I've had about a month loses about 2 seconds a day. The 114060 I've had a little over two weeks loses about a half-second a day. I usually wear the no-date during the day and the Bluesy in the evening, including while sleeping. The one not being worn resides in a presentation box.

Also, I've not wound either other than when I first received them.

Daytona is about 2 yrs old and gains 5-6 min after a month in the winder. My DSSD is 2 weeks old and is 10 sec fast. I sleep with my watch on and only take it off when I shower

TT Sub : +4 seconds a day for 15 years when its first service was performed. Rock solid performance.
Had the accuracy slipped over the years, I would have had it serviced sooner. In hind sight, I probably could have waited for its first service. Now its 0 to -.50 seconds a day after service for the past year. I expect all my automatics to cut COSC standards in half. Its not hard to do.

DJII, about four years old. Don't know if it's been serviced as I bought it used. Rests crown up at night, worn daily and is 1.5 sec/day fast.

GMT BLNR. Bought 8 Nov 2013. Never serviced. Rests either on its back or side (crown up) at night. Placed on wooden night stand of cotton cloth by my sink...depends when I remember to take it off.

Only comes off for shower and bed. Otherwise worn at beach, hiking, gym, work, lounging etc...

Kind of scares me to say this, but it seems to be dead on accurate.

My 116610LV runs around +1.5 seconds a day.
My Omega SMPc is around +3 seconds a day.
Coming from, relatively, inexpensive but very accurate quartz watches it took me a while to remember that mechanical watches need adjusting every once in a while. But I can live with it!
