I felt it, thought I was going crazy from waiting but FB did confirm way before news outlets did.

The news is just breaking on the quake.
Damage looks substantial. Power is out to 15,000 residents in the Napa Valley area. Hopefully no loss of life. |

A friend in Concord felt it, but said it wasn't bad out there - no damage at his place.

Bah humbug, it woke me out of my beauty sleep!
No damage in my area, east SF Bay Area The quake was centered below Napa, damage & fires there It wasn't a quick shake, more like a long swaying one

My sister lives in the city. She said that it felt quite strong, but everything is ok (for her, at least).
I'm watching the news right now and there seems to be a lot of damage to buildings, but hopefully that's the worst of it. |

I'm in SJ and was awaken when the bed started shaking. I just moved here from MI less than 2yrs ago and this is the first quake I really felt. Hopefully no more severe after shocks.

Definitely felt it here up in the East Bay hills. It felt like a vehicle struck my house and my dogs were going crazy. Fortunately no damage here. It sounds like most of the damage was isolated in Napa.

Sure did. It woke us all up. Place was shaking quite a bit... but more like very intense vibrating, high frequency. Weirdest quake I've ever felt. I knew almost immediately, it was a distant quake, but wasn't sure of magnitude. Was surprised this morning of the damage it inflicted in Napa. Crazy...

So weird you got swaying when we got this crazy vibrating like we were on a coal shifter... Could hear every piece of glass in the house ringing like an old rotary phone.

My German Shepherd woke me 15 seconds before it started. Kind of a rolling and shaking feeling for about 20 seconds. No damage in my part of the East Bay.

Felt it in the east bay, enough to wake me up. When it happened, I thought, well either that was a local 3.0, a 6.0 in San Francisco or LA is a smoking hole in the ground. Glad there wasn't a lot of damage.
