I pulled the trigger!
Hi,
Thanks to all of your help I have just pulled the trigger and reserved a new GMT II Coke at a main AD. It is the last in their large company. The reason that I have reserved and not bought is as follows, should I be concerned????? The watch was originally sold last year as a prize for a competition that never took place. It sat in the safe and never saw the light of day. Eventually the money was refunded by the AD after examining that everything was totally as it should be. I was assured that all of the stickers were in place for the bracelet and case and that the watch was in pristine unworn condition. As the original warranty had been running all of the time it sat in the safe it was now at less than 2 years. The watch has been sent back to Rolex for them to re issue the warranty. I would assume they would check it over thoroughly before issuing the new warranty. So my name is on the watch and when it comes in to the shop I can go and see it and pay up!! If it is not pristine I will walk away. I wonder how long I will have to wait?? This seemed the best option to me as the other 2 new GMTs that I found had been in another AD's window for betwen 12 and 18 months. I thought that these are more likely to be marked from being handled than this one that has sat in the safe. What do you think, there does not seem to be hardly any of these left new in the UK at main ADs. Thanks for your support, PeterT |

I have a series Pepsi, with the other two bezel colours so I can switch around (I'm wearing the Coke now).
The GMT in my opinion is, without a doubt, the most versatile Rolex in the gallery. Looks sporty and dressy when need be, WR to 100 meters, and does two time zones at once. Light, comfortable and nice low profile. You're in luck. Its a great watch and the only one I would have if I could have only one. Best, C |
