Incoming...with a tale
As most of you know I exited the military last July to try my hand at being a civilian. Needless to say it has been an interesting transition and worth the hard work required to get ahead. I had a job interview earlier this week and noted in a post, in jest, that my Sub peeked out from under my sleeve during conversation. It was four of them and one of me, and I caught one of the interviewers looking at the Sub. That day I went to an AD to try on a DJ because I felt I was lacking that piece that blended well with a suit (IMHO).
So off I went to my watch mentors Mike Kilyung and Sam FremStar to get their advice. Of course they are the biggest supporters of getting what you like and offered some great advice. After a short search I found a DJ that I believe was meant for me. I've included a picture of my Army Service Uniform to help explain why I decide on a Blue Dial. In the military, each branch has it's designated color, and all the blue (yes, even the suspenders which means Im kinda old school) you see represents my former military career field, Military Intelligence. I was pretty sold on the white dial, however when I contemplated the blue, it just made sense. It has a deeper connection and has a story to tell. This will bring me down to three watches where I think I'll stick around for a while and earn some milage (SD, GMT and DJ). In closing I'd like to thank Perpetualman88 (David) for offering a military discount.

That's a great story and three nice watches, each with its own unique role.
As for the job interview, IMO anyone with a CAB & Bronze Star should be pretty high up on the "hire now" list! |

Very cool story and great choice. "Down to 3" but what a near perfect three it is.

Great picture and I love your story. I can't wait to see the watch on your wrist once it arrives. A Rolex blue dial is seriously one of my favorite color dials.
I love the wonderful memory you will have of this watch and how it represents your military career. I may have said it before, but you have my utmost respect for your time in service. Thank you. Wishing you all the best Armyguy03. |
