Watch collectors or... Collectors?

Wondering how many people on here collect watches, and how many are overall collectors.

I collect watches and art. A buddy of mine collects watches and custom knives. Another collects watches and wine.

Curious if the average watch collector focuses solely on watches or if the watches are just one of many collections in their lives. Basically interested to know if our love of watch collecting is because we love watches or if we are compulsive and enjoy collecting 'things'.

Do you use the fishing reels or just collect based on quality/rarity?

I do use them, so I don't have really any antique models. I do a lot of bass fishing where I live. I mainly use bait casters and spinning reels.

I look at tinder like I do watches. Sometimes you end up wearing a Rolex. Sometimes you end up with a swatch.

Used to collect WWII stuff, but sold all when moved to a smaller house. Still regret it.

If 3 and an aspiration for a couple more is a 'collection' then I suppose I am a "watch collector". Also a wine collector, an interest that I struggle to keep within sensible limits.
I think we would expect to find a bit of a 'collector' streak in most on here.

I don't think I can classify myself as a collector. More of an enthusiast. I like watches but don't have enough to classify as a collector.
