Any Scotty Cameron fans

Hey guys I finally decided to invest in a new putter. Got bitten by the golf bug pretty good this year. I spent the last 10 years putting with a odessey DFX 6600.

Was at golf town and ended up walking out with a new Scotty Cameron. Square back select. Have to say my first impressions of this putter are very good. The weight feels awesome and it has less toe hang than my odessey which helps out for my stroke that is more straight back and straight through.

Will try and get some pics up soon.

Anyone else on here a Scotty Cameron guy or gal?

They look great and are obviously well made....I had one, sold it a few years back and now have 2 vintage (from the late 80's) SS Ping Anser 2's and wouldn't putt with anything else

You really have to go with what feels best in your hands. Truth be told I took a risk getting this as it's not game proven yet.

Just curious what do you shoot when you play? I'm definitely a higher handicap guy myself. My handicap is about 17

I had a scotty and sold and built a custom putter completely on my own deciding. There's some good manufacturers out there to look into. The building process is great

They are great putters but overpriced for very popular items. And one commonly stolen at clubs due to its easiness to sell

With putting its all about confidence. If that $300 putter makes you confident then buy it.

Well put rusty. It really is all about confidence. Tomorrow will be the true test as I take it for a full round. One of the main things for me to get use to is the weight as it's much heavier in feel than my old odessey. Also another thing that I notice is that it comes off the face pretty hot and the roll seems to be quite bit cleaner. That might be due to the less toe hang though.

If I break 90 tomorrow I will be over the moon happy.

I've owned and sold. Couldn't tell you if it made me a better golfer...nice putters though! I play with an Odessey Black now.

My deer friend always said that we truly become golfers once we have a few drivers and a few putters sitting in our closet...

I have owned several scotty Cameron's and they are great putters, however, the BEST is my current putter, a handmade putter by Tom Slighter from Seattle, it's a thing of beauty!

Fro me, grip made all the difference this season. Was playing around with some demos in the shop when my course pro suggested I try one of the "big grips" before dropping more $$$ on yet another club change. Popped a superstroke 5.0 on my old ping milled blade putter & a world of difference! Takes the hands totally out of the process

Am a huge fan. Putting is all about confidence and for some reason, my first Cameron instilled a lot into my putting game. Been playing this game for 20 years and was fine from tee to green, but perhaps the worst putter in the history of amateur sports. At least 6 or 7 three-putts per round.
Picked up my first Cameron and it turned my game around. It's not the arrow, but it's the confidence the arrow gives.
Have now purchased many including a tour Cameron (known as a Circle T) for way too much money, but it once belonged to Jim Furyk and it is beautiful.
So yah....I'm a big fan.

Cameron makes great putters and has a cult following, but in the end, putt with what works, be it SC or something else.

Use to be a 5, now about a 15, only getting a dozen or so round a year in. I've lost interest in the game, the time it takes to play a round and the prices courses charges.

This coming form a guy that played over 100 rounds a year for like 10 years..

Tried the scotty's in the shop the other day, came off the face hot and didn't like that.

I've had a studio select square back for a couple years. I'm happy with it, switched from an oddessy just to try something new. See no reason to let it go. I'm about a 15 handicap and only play once a week or less. Plus golf season is April-November around here. By the time I get to Florida in February, I've lost it all lol

Had one years ago, now use Odyssey exclusively. Just like the feel.

I've got a bag with a few Scottys, some Odyssey's thrown in, and several Pings. I like the feel of my old Ping B60 best. I just realized that I collect putters like I collect watches!

Well played a full round today and overall the experience with the new putter was good. Drained a couple 10 footers to save par so that was nice.

IMO it's going to take a few rounds to really get use to this. The weight alone seems much different from my old odessey. That said though I love how solid it feels when the ball comes off the face. It is more forgiving and almost effortless to get the ball rolling.

This one is a keeper!!!!

had a futura years ago. should have kept it. great for scooping balls out of the cups with the back weight.

I have a squareback 1 "heavy" and really enjoy the feel, it seems to putt more true than other options that I had in the bag years ago.

I do like how it rolls off this square back.

Yes it was the first squareback he made and I still bag it, it has 20g weights in it, and really helps with distance control.

I could be totally wrong but I think the future is face balanced. So it would work for a person that has a very straight stroke.

It's definitely different. I played with a guy a whole back who swore by it and he was a fairly descent golfer. To each their own I suppose.

I went through a few before I settled on an Odyssey 2-ball blade in 2004. Still play it.

My local golf shoppe has a used Pro Platinum Newport 2 for cheap, but my preference would be a del mar.

I tried a del mar too. Very nice putter.

You have to putt with what feels good in your hands and in your case if that's the 2 ball then awesome.
