Greetings to everybody from Istanbul, Turkey.

I posted this message in other forums and wanted to share also with you.

I am a read only member for a while and hope to be more active in the future.

The story is all about our 2 pieces of PAM 507 which we bought while ago. We decided to use mine in normal conditions and protect it especially from the water.I've been using it since January and I am quite happy with the actual color and general condition of my Bronzo.

On the contrary, my friend used his 507 without caring too much and recently he went to the seaside. He put his watch on while swimming and after a couple of days bronzo changed completly.

Than it was the time for us to start Operation "Bronzo".

We were planinng to apply a kind of procedure in order to revert the Bronzo to it's brand new condition. Or at least to clean up the patina on the surface.

It was actually so funny when we put the watch inside a "Mineral Water". happy.gifhappy.gif Probably we were expecting those bubbles to remove the patina. happy.gif
But after 15 minutes we noticed that something is wrong and we need to use a different liquid.

Than we bought "Sprite" and the real operation has started.

We put even some lemon juice inside.

The operation was almost perfect.

Finally after 15 minutes we took oot the watch from the glass and Bronzo was look like little bit destroyed :

But everything was under control.

Just some soft brushing under flowing water, the old patina was completly removed :

At the end of the operation the color of the watch was certainly different than the original one. But in any case it was quite attractive and I would say it was worth to try.

It was a great fun for us and just wanted to share with you all.

Nice! I'm a big fan of any 47 mm Panerai, especially this case and dial. I love my 305

I also like 47 mm cases. Most of my Pam's are 47 mm.

To each his own, but I don't really understand the bronzo. Bronze is a rather cheap material, oxidizes quickly, no brainer on the finishing of the case, and the so called patina is not great on the skin. Cost a bundle. What's up ? Was it a mistake ?

try using Coke next time, it's more acidic than Sprite.

After seeing the result we also decided to use our 507s with patina. I dont think we will repeat this operatin.
