Tudor Heritage Ranger
Went to my local AD today to ask when the Heritage Ranger will be coming in. She said that they had put in their order & that it could be in 2 days or it could be in 2 months. "Rolex tells us nothing."
Apparently it is a VERY highly desired watch & will be hard to get your hands on. I just wanted to see it....... |

It's been in Hong Kong for weeks. Saw a secondhand one for sale here already about a month ago.

That's interesting. Seeing something in the flesh is often a lot different than photos. When I was first looking for an Explorer I loved the black dial more than the white... until I saw them in person.

They might be pulling your strings...
I can't see the ranger being a highly desired model at the moment. If anything the midnight black bay or the blue heritage chrono is probably much more desirable. |

I went to an AD in Hawaii and California and both had one in stock. When I talked to them, it sounded like each store only gets 1-2 of them at a time

whether "highly desired" or "salesmanship", one thing is clear: tudor is on a roll.

Like almost anything there's probably a lot of salesmanship involved, & unfortunately it wouldn't be there first time that someone pulled my strings.
But from a little poking around the Internet, it does seem to be highly desirable. It's highly unlikely that I'll buy it. Unless... I see it & really like it, then maybe I'll give my Explorer to my son or daughter as a graduation present & I'll buy the Ranger for myself. Or not, seems a little self-serving. But I need to see the Ranger first. Sigh.... |

I don't know, the gap (esp. for a tool watch like this) would make the cleaning of it more efficient if you get the watch into that much muck as the end links may hold liquids inside.

I would have liked it much more if it had been 38mm instead of 41mm. Being mostly dial, there is really no need for it to be so massive. The originals were 34mm after all. And it would have been nice to have "RANGER" on the dial!

My cousin is seriously contemplating this watch. The pics he has sent are compelling...I wish he would pull the damn trigger already so I could see it in the flesh...

This is one watch that looks better in photos than in person---at least to me.

A young woman I work with told me she wanted to buy a Ranger today. What sold her on it was the way it looked on the camo strap. I don't think she's seen it in person and may not end up wanting a watch so big... And it's a large investment if the strap is your favorite part. But I think it is a nice watch. I'd just rather cobble together a few extra bucks and get a second hand Explorer.

I agree with Wes on this. It wears pretty large at 41mm for anyone with a wrist size less than 7" IMO. If it were 38 or 39mm and had end links it would have been a home run. Just my .02

There are a lot of things that are just off. First, I think it's too large. I know, these days, few men are interested in a 36mm watch, but it really is a good size for a watch like this. There are other things that don't seem right, too. For example, the bezel is too thin and the dial is too big, the bracelet looks odd without the end links, etc... All of this is subjective, of course.
I said it early on and I still feel the same way; the Ranger looks like a little boy's first watch. |
