Icon10 Confirmed: I am a WIS!

As I sit at the airport waiting for my connecting flight, I notice that a closeby stanger is wearing a SS GMT (yes, I am a WIS). I am wearing my IWC. Then it hits me: I miss wearing my sub! (Ohhhhh yes, I AM a WIS!)

Have you ever 'missed' your watch?

I have to admit, thats pretty awesome and I think it looks great on her. I miss wearing my sub almost every time I wear something else. Its becoming a problem.

Yes. I miss my Y series all black GMT-II when I'm travelling and not wearing it. Does that make me a WIS, too?

I know that's a Chanel purse on the chair. Does that make me a PIS?

Uh...I think we knew you were a WIS before today, Gerardo.

Seriously, I think we would have been disappointed if you hadn't noticed.

And yes, I have often "missed" my watch when someone sitting nearby in the airport or plane has on one of "mine".

I would rather miss my watch in the safe at home, than miss it in the hands of a thief in a foreign land!
I'm not planning travel for a while (returned from Italy in June), but I think (at this moment) I would wear my (fill-in-the-model) nice watch on holiday. I think I'm aware enough to avoid volatile environments that would place me or my watch in danger. But ask me the day before I'm scheduled to travel again!
BTW, in Italy I wore a very sweet vintage Omega Speedmaster 321 (105.012-66 CB for those who speak Speedy). Never regretted taking it, and enjoyed it every day there!

Not to be an idiot, but I thought that it was a rocker-dude in the Sky Lounge.
It is funny when a certain watch gets under your skin like that. I used to be that way with my old Anonimo until I rediscovered my even older 16710. We are a strange breed indeed.
Cheers to that.

And that's a Turkey Club sandwich on the table, with lettuce, and a light mayo dressing. FIS here.

Sorry, Gerardo.........We already KNEW you were a WIS, and a WIS with very good taste in watches , food, wine, liquor, and cigars!!!!!!
I've been wondering where your 16613 has been hiding? That used to be your exclusive travel watch. Nothing wrong with changing things up though .

I do begin to miss a particular Rolex, even if I'm wearing another Rolex and when I'm not wearing a Rolex, I sometimes miss wearing one.

I try to enjoy each of my watches for what they are, even if it's just a $20 S&W or a $60 Seiko 5.

I started the day with my BLNR and decided that it was time for the Sub, so I switched out and it really feels good on my wrist.

I am doing a rotation so watches I don't wear often get some wrist time.

Yada yada yada; you're a WIS, I'm a WIS; that's why we spend inordinate amounts of time on TRF!

As to missing my Rolex, as nice as the IWCs are I never go out without my beloved TT DJ.

Safe travels, my friend...
