My new strap is quite nice
I wanted a GS Crazy Horse version 1.
Unfortunately they are no longer made. So I got one used but in VGC. I do prefer to get my leather straps new. Anyway, here it is:

Nice looking strap steve! the great thing about the brushed case and black dial on your pam is you can get away with just about any color.
I'm wearing the black and blue diving velcro strap on mine as we speak for everyday work that is looks new to me inless there is a little wear around the tang buckle or one of the strap holes? |

Thanks guys. I do like the lighter colour tan straps.
There are these straps made out of baseball glove leather. I don't know if any of you guys have seen those before, but they look pretty awesome. So you know what I need to get. I promise that will be my last strap. Dammmnn Jocke you are so funny

Hey SubKing you sound desparate
O.K. here's your fix: http://www.europelli.com/VitelloSeries.html Blow up the photos. I really like the 'slightly distressed' and 'natural'. The site says that they are out of stock, but I'm hoping they will have them in again in the next few days.

Hi Miner (Clive) that is a great looking CH
Just to give you guys the heads up. The dude that makes the Baseball Glove leather staps is a really nice guy. He gets the best of the best leather used by the main glove manufacturers i.e. Spalding, Rawlings etc. He has been out of stock, as the manufacturer will not supply during the baseball pre-season. However, he has purchased new stock of leather and the new straps will be released in the next 5-6 weeks. If you shoot Drew Watson, the strap manufacturer an e-mail he will put you on the pre-order list. He already has 200 pre-orders. Check out this photo of the natural strap (my favourite) the back has a special black leather that protects the strap from the effects of perspiration.

steve what are you doing to me!?!?!?
I felt sweat drop down my face as soon as i clicked that linked and laid my eye's on one of the most slick strap's i have seen yet.. I wonder how those straps are priced? judging by the pic you posted it seems to be of high quality and the edges are sealed which is nice. Do you think this guy would let me choose my own color stiching like brown to match my dial? now that would be un real.. but as you said he already has them made up? |

Just to let you guys know, I don't get any personal benefit from the seller of these straps.
I just spoke to the guy Drew today for the first time, he sounds like a nice obliging guy so if you want a custom strap made, I'd say you have a good chance, just give him a telephone call, as that is the best way to make contact with him and get your queries answered. The prices are stated on his website. I do like the look of his stuff, and I hope to try his baseball glove strap sooon

Just a quick introduction of myself...
Hello gentlemen!
I had the pleasure of sharing a nice phone conversation with Steve the other day, but wanted to officially introduce myself to your community. I've been a Panerai enthusiast and collector for the past 4 or 5 years, meeting hundreds of outstanding people along the way. That, in iteself, has been my greatest fringe benefit from this wacky little world we know as watch collecting. The friendships made during this journey have been truly remarkable. I'm sure many of you feel the same way. That said, Rolex is the brand that really started my passion for mechanical watches. This was probably, oh, 8 or 9 years ago. My first Rolex was a white-dialed Explorer II, then a 16610 Sub Date, then a 16613 TT Blue Sub, then a Red/Black GMT Master II. A fairly reasonable sampling of their sport models, with the exception of a Dayona and a Seadweller. I've never owned either, but the new Deep Sea looks very interesting. I suppose this one may fall within the love it or hate it category - but I think it's a nice step forward. Today, in terms of Rolex, I'm left with only one: The GMTII-C, which I wear at least once or twice a week. Personally, I find it to be the perfect blend of their classic sports watch, combined with a fresh and substantial look. I included a few quick shots of it below. I'm afraid I won't be able to answer many questions about Rolex, as I have much to still learn. Particularly when it comes to the vintage models. However, I do look forward to contributing to your Panerai forum, as that's where my knowledge is far greater. Thanks very much for allowing me to introduce myself to your fine community! Kindest Regards, Drew |
