I will add that my blackberry I recently got rid of used far superior alarm click tones (that included escalating volume options) with better function than this new iPhone that I find very disappointing on several levels.

Atomic alarm clock. You wake up with a heart attack basically

On a more practical note. I highly recommend SleepTime. It tells you exactly when to wake up depending on what time you fall asleep.so you dont wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle feeling groggy. This way you always wake up feeling well rested.

This is what it says if you fall go to bed around 10pm for example. All the wake up times are when you are not in a sleep cycle.

I use my iPhone when I'm not at home. When I'm home I use a very primitive battery digital like this Westclox. I need to hear it & I've had a few experiences where the battery backup didnt work during power failures (common in NC) & so I just picked up a battery one & havent had any issues. Being late for a shift when someone has already been there for 12 hrs & is relying on their replacement to go home, is not an option.

This is the Loud Banshee alarm clock. LOL

Mathew, I'm an insomniac, the SleepTime system you use might be great in theory but how practical is it? Does it work for you?

Clocky is pretty good, it drives off your bedside table, so rather than just turning it off and falling back to sleep, you have to get up to turn it off.

When I had my chronic fatigue syndrome from mono it helped me alot. Its a free iphone app. If your usually tired when you wake up this really help you. Try it out. See if there is a difference with your energy when you wake up :)

I was gonna say Bose is overpriced crap. But just clicked on that link and saw the US prices, instead it's just crap.

Can't believe that prices are literally double here in the UK, what a joke. Really irks me that we get ripped off here for branded stuff just for no particular reason.

Don't your prices include VAT? If we had that price structure here then our retail prices would be similarly situated.

As for Bose - I'll stick with my 20+ years of flawless operation and decent sound.
