INTERSTELLAR - The Movie

Hey Guys:

Here's a quick review if you're looking for one....

The movie is long...almost 3 hours worth of Sci Fi and very intense....

It reminds me of "2001 A Space Odyssey"....but newer special effects and easier to understand the list of characters....

Best of all (not a spoiler): a watch plays an important part in the overall story line !!

It's intriguing and I will see it so thank you for your 10,000 foot view of it, pun intended

Saw it yesterday.
Honestly, I was disappointed and can't recommend it.
Don't want to give any spoilers, so I'll keep my reasoning to myself.
If you must see it, wait for the DVD release.

Looking forward to seeing it, such mixed reviews though.

On another note, thought you guys would like to know, Grumpy Cat has a Christmas movie coming out!!!

This Christmas, when it comes to the holiday spirit, all pets are off.

I think the watch is actually this one (per Hamilton's website).

And this frame-scrape...

An instant classic like the "2001 A Space Odyssey" was. Hope it aspires more young people interest in space science like it did to me.

BTW, Space Odyssey also featured a Hamilton watch.

So many plot holes, but it's a science fiction movie so I think it gets a bit more leeway in that area. I think it helps to have a basic understanding of Einstein's theory of relativity to help understand the story, my wife was a bit lost. There's references to Space Odyssey, Contact, The Road, and many other Sci-Fi books/movies. I would see it again. I was disappointed in the mixed reviews and suggest to not read them beforehand.

We are both correct....I was referring to the watch he gave to his daughter....different from his !

Obviously, HAMILTON, paid for the exposure of their brand name....

I don't know how people can pick plots holes in a film like this, unless you have actually flown a spaceship near a black hole, have you?

I absolutely loved it. And the only plot hole I could see was that hamilton watch is not qualified for space flight by NASA. Wished they had used a speedmaster.

Saw it yesterday. One of the best Sy-Fi's ever, IMHO. Lots of slow, non eventful parts, but everything falls into place. There is a reason the slower scenes did not get edited out. When stuff happens, it happens pretty fast. If you like technical SyFi, DON'T read the reviews. Just go see the movie.

Bottom line, it's technical, and it's a thinker. As was said earlier, a basic grasp of basic space flight, Einstein's theory, as well as some quantum physics will help.

Lets just say they used a LOT of imagination, like with the ending of 2001. Since no one has been in a black hole, they just made something up. IMHO, they went more on the fantasy side than the theoretical side... Buy, hey... What else can they do. I'll give them a pass.

There was a Rolex GMT worn on one or two Apollo missions. Since then, there's been everything from G-Shocks to Breitlings in space. You can keep your speedy.

Ok it's the only one qualified for EVA. Was plenty of that in the film.

Watch Interstellar (2014) Online Megashare Online

Through the medium of this movie the director tries his best to present the true picture of all those emotions which ties tightly the father and daughter with the bond of true love.
