Returned the iphone 6

I returned the iphone 6 I purchased ten days ago. While I loved the phone: the longer lasting battery, the bigger screen, the better camera, etc., I will be given a less than six-month old 5s. My cousin bought the 6 plus and wants to gift to me, the almost new 5s. After reviewing my bill for a 64gb iphone 6 with apple care, case and all, it was $955 American. Comparing the costs iphone 6 $955 vs. iphone 5s "FREE," well...I decided to return my little expensive treat. I've been told that the differences can easily be overlooked for 1K. I hope they are right.

I just got the 6+, coming from the 5s and I love the difference. The bigger screen is really great, although I was completely happy with my 5s and I would still have it, except I dropped it and it shattered and broke. Instead of replacing it with the Apple Care I upgraded. I had the 5s since a couple months after its release and it's always been a great phone so you should be happy!

Returned the iphone 6

I have a 5 and this just showed up at the door today.

6+. And the U.S. Cell phone companies like Verizon and Sprint are buying 5's for huge money. So it is almost free to upgrade.
Mine is thru work so it was only a minimal cost to me anyhow.

Mehh, I have an Iphone 5s I use to stay in contact with my kiddos while abroad using FaceTime and iMessage. But when it comes to a phone I use in daily life I discovered that my Xperia Z3 and my previous Z1 compact blows my Iphones out of the water. I can adjust every setting I want, unlike Apple which has restrictions on just about everything, unless you jailbreak it and I'm not into that.

Look at comparisons on youtube. The competition has caught up and in the case of the Sony, surpassed Apple in smartphones. However, if you need a phone to give to someone that doesn't know anything about smartphones or tinkering with them, the Apple is the best choice.

I have a 5 & although I thought I might like to get the 6, I realized I didn't like the larger size. Also to note, there isn't that much more the 6 does for me to spend extra money for. Enjoy your gift. ;-)

I sold my iPhone 5 for about the same price as the upgrade to the iphone 6 so it was a win win

I have a 5S as my only (i.e. business and personal use) phone and I love it. I usually wait for the S version and never buy the first numbered model; in other words, 4S, 5S, etc. I like to think that any teething problems that are encountered with the new shape/size unit will be ironed out for the S model with the bonus of having a new engine under the bonnet.

I'll most likely get a 6S about this time next year.

Believe me, you might not like the larger size from holding it in the store, but trust that if you got a 6 you would be used to the size in no time. I refused the big phone craze all this time but recently finally tried out a bigger phone, larger screen than an I6 but about the same physical size and when I use my 5s for something it feels incredibly, even uncomfortably tiny to use.

Similar to the difference between wearing a 27mm DJ and your Sub I suppose.

The 6 is about the right size for a device and only if Apple would leave the physical size the same and make the screen bigger by reducing the huge top and bottom bezels. 6+ is way too big, that is phablet territory.
However, performance wise there is no difference, I agree.

Just a thought for you, as I do not know how you carry your phone(front pocket or on a belt clip...among other possibilities)but I have used the OtterBox Defender for years and not had a problem. Of course I have been fortunate when I have dropped my iPhone, by accident, that the glass screen didn't take the impact. Also the Lifeproof Cases, are shock, water, dust/dirt Proof but thay are a bit bulky. I happen to wear my Mobile phone with a belt clip system and last year when I bought the iPhone 5S I at first went with the Lifeproof Case until I found out they di not have a belt clip system...but now they do. So I took it back to the store and went with the Otterbox Defender which I have used on the different iPhones since 2009.....

Verizon gave me $325 dollars for my 5s. I paid only $20 for it after I got my credit on my previous iPhone. They truly hold value and for me actually made money. I am now on Edge program so used credit towards Mophie, Bose ear piece, and car charger. Love my new 6+ by the way!!

Thank you for the recommendations, I actually have a green and black Life-proof case. I took it off because I lost the adapter for the headphone jack so I could plug it in to my bass amp to jam. Before I had a chance to put it back on, I dropped it down the stairs and totaled it. I got a leather case with my 6+ and I like how lo-pro it is, however I may spring for another life proof for when I go snowboarding and stuff.
