One just isn't enough
I bought my Explorer II less than a week ago and already I'm covering my next watch (Explorer I), and planning on getting it, though I'm forcing myself to wait a couple months to enjoy this one first.
How long did you wait from the first to second Rolex? And was it on purpose? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

At least you made it a week! Some here never stop the hunt for the next one. I waited a month.

One was enough....until I joined TRF. Then all the sudden two was possible. Now with three, that's my limit since I don't fancy myself a "collector", I'm more of a wearer/enjoyer.
Now after a few years in I'm even considering precious metals. This place is very dangerous. Beware.......you've been warned. |

Story of my life. Picked up my ExII about a month ago and already back on the hunt. I should make an offload first. At least it's not women. That would be WAY more expensive. Though, that would allow our lawyer friends to get more watches!

I admit I bought the Exp II as the "one watch I need". But it's funny how quickly I've come up with excuses for "needing" more. Despite the fact that I own three watches (not including two I have for sale).

For me two rolexes would be enough if I had to go there. It would be a solid gold daytona and a polar explorer 2.

Its crazy here, recently I had one coming in with UPS from one of our trusty vendors, and as I am tracking the package I found myself cruising here looking for the next purchase! One hadn't arrived yet on the big brown truck and I am already scratching my head for the next one/t

It can be a sickness too! I finally stopped at 14 but I still consider adding more just less likely to do it. Have almost everything I would want though. Good luck my friend!

I went 14 years after my first. Didn't really feel the need for another one until I found TRF. Now I have 23 watches in my collection (11 Rolexes)...

I am waiting at least until my 50th birthday (4 years) and my eventual purchase of a birth year piece. I figured I have a better chance of getting a green light from my better half.
Happy wife... happy life. That being said... You never know!!! |

I traded for my DSSD back in 2012, in 2013 bought my DJII, now I am looking for a 16613 blue sub, funny enough, I haven't even bought the 16613 yet and I am thinking about what will be the next one after the 16613, maybe a silver dial YM 11622

Congrats! One Rolex was enough for about 20+ years. A couple years ago, I picked up a 216570 and found this site -- it's been a slippery slope ever since joining.
I literaly have to put myself on "time out" from this site.

I used to go 3 years between watches. In those days, I was in the Tag Heuer price range. I bought a Chrono, then 3 years later a Movado, then 3 years after that, a Tag Carrera, then 3 years later, made the jump to the Sub-C. In 3 months, it will be 4 years since I got the Sub and hope to have added a Explorer II Polar dial before then!

I had mine Sub LV for a few years before buying my second expensive watch.
But since then, its down (or up) hill...

Started planning my second Rolex within days of getting my first. Number two didn't actually come along however for 22 years.

I bought my first Rolex (216570 Polar) about 2 years ago. I wore it very happily every day, with no great need for another piece, for about 18 months, until I bought a GMT BLNR. As soon as I bought the BLNR I was thinking about buying my third watch and all I could think about was the 116610LV. I couldn't get it out of my mind and it was actually a piece that I never even considered before I bought my BLNR. About 6 months after buying the BLNR I had to buy the 116610LV, which I did very recently.
Since buying it, I now have 3 watches which I love and the need for a 4th has died down. I still think occasionally about what I might add much later, but that need to buy is not there right now. I seem happy with my small collection and long may it continue.

I waited a year for my second.
I used that time to do some research and save enough money. My first was a 114270 and the second was a 116200 63600 with black stick dial and roulette date wheel. Two fairly similar watches, yet decidedly different.
